Would you accept this tyre?

I just got this tyre from CRC, and am less than impressed with its condition. As you can see, it wasn't packed too carefully, and I'm not sure it's even useable in this state. Would you put this tyre on a rim? It's a Schwalbe Marathon Plus wire-beaded 700x28C.

Looks like it was figure of 8 folded to me, pretty common no? As long as the wire bead is not kinked use it (as Beano above says) else return it.

Sometimes they do come in a large flat box. Like a pizza box but bigger, depending on pizza size of course a 700c pizza would be pretty epic!

Looks fine- they sent through to me 2 x 25c tyres tied in a figure 8 then zipped tied together, hook them on the rim and stick some pressure behind it and all fine.

Once it's been fitted it'll find it's proper shape.

as said, it will return to its proper shape when fitted and pressurised. Don't worry.

It will settle. I have had my snow studs sent in a super big pizza box type package.

I don't use wired tyres normally, prefer Kevlar folding on all my bikes including the MTB. Just the ice tyres come wired.

Hi,

FWIW the triple fold is the way to to fold wired tyres, much better than the figure of eight.
Not easy to explain, but relatively easy to do once you get the hang of it.
