Would you re use and run this cassette?

I am never very good at looking at cassettes and assessing wear. Usually I just run through a few chains on them then ride them to destruction over winter and replace them in the spring.
I have a dilemma.

We are about to go on holiday (family camping) and we take the bikes, we will be doing a bit of cycling nothing outrageous, camel trail etc but i will be towing a tag a long.

I am just about to throw my better wheel on the bike having had it off for a few months while I cleaned up the freehub, bearings and fettled a few spokes.
Do I refit the cassette on the left of this image? On the right is a new one for reference.

I was planning on chucking on a new chain too.

How worn does it look, am I likely to experience any skating?
..... I am a tight wad, but normally I'd put a new one on, but this is the chain ring.....

.........and I don't want to trash a new cassette with anew chain and I haven't got a new ring/crank set to hand (nor a part worn chain)

The usual winter maintenance holiday has dragged on this year!

I'm the last person to take advice from on bike maintenance, but if the old chain isn't horrendously "worn" according to a checker tool, I'd be inclined to use the old chain and old cassette for your hol. Then fit the new chain and cassette together, perhaps around next spring.

Old chain is toast.

Decision made, I've put it on with a new chain.

Problem is now the front mech is mangled.

Your chainset is more worn imho.

New cassette with new chain for the holiday.
Play around with the worn (km not known) cassette and a chain when you're back home and dysfunction matters less (and you can sort easily).

Be very wary of fettling just before you go on holiday and do at least a 10 mile test ride before you set off.

And any tools you use, take them with you.

I know... I know, in an ideal world it would have been done last week and had a week of commuting on it.

Tools - That's why i dont really want to start knocking cranks off etc. We are "carboot" camping so i usually take a shoebox full of tools anyway.
