Mine (Touring+) spent a lot of time yesterday trying to send me down dirt roads, which was odd as it was recalculating the same route I'd taken two weeks earlier where it hadn't done anything of the sort. I need to sit it down and give it a stern talking to.

It did 'forget' a lot of things recently, made me wonder if something had been 'upgraded'.

My car Garmin tries to do that. One track near my son's house is its favourite peice of road and as it is blocked by concrete bollards at both ends, muddy and single track wide I tend to give it a miss in the car!

One route I planned once did that. The 'road' was a track, so we ended up riding fixed up a bloody big hill at the back of Lyme Park (and no it wasn't the ride with Dr Pink and Totallyfixed where we went up a really steep hill in bollington)

Using OpenStreetMaps? They do sometimes fail to mark unpaved roads as such.
