I do like the orange, I did consider it for a long while. We live very rural and cars might not see the orange as much as the yellow. I feel guilty for changing his hi-vis safety colour as it is!!!I am Spartacus said:Stand up for Orange

Thank you guys so much for all the help, I'm reckoning that both jackets will be lovely and no more tears will have to be shed.

I think your boyfriend might thank you for buying a jacket with good hi-viz reflective properties as it might save his life cycling in the dark on rural lanes. Also you yourself might be relieved you put functionality over fashion, as it's one thing to co-ordinate colours, but not much use if the item you're wearing doesn't make you as visible as you could be. Still at least your bf's non reflective attire will be colour matched with his panniers when he's SMIDSY'd. Unless he will wear a yellow hi-viz reflective gilet over the top of this jacket which rather defeats the effort of colour matching to the Ortlieb panniers? Sorry to be a kiljoy.

I'd wear a body suit made completely from Scothlite!!! That is such a good idea, the silver won't clash with the yellow either. I'll ask Noel Fielding if he can run us 1 up on his sewing machine

Extremely warm, comfy and it cannot be missed.
Also causes amusement... I was photographing "Green Men" at a church when this little girl asked her mum if I was dead ...... on the grounds that she could see my bones!

That is so cool!!! I love the fish detail! It actually looks practical too! I want 1 for me!
