Just as I thought the 3 inches that had dropped overnight was enough. At 08:00 the snow had stopped so I thought I might have managed the commute home before more snow fell.

Boy was I wrong, 08:20 and it's dropping out of the sky at an alarming rate again.

Wonder if I can get a Police escort home ??

Edit... Oh and I don't finish work 'til 9am

It's going to get worse before it gets better , that's for sure.
We had nothing more than a light dusting during the night but it looks like a load is on its way.

Best hope people can get out on the snow before the cars turn it slippy!

I deliberately rode in an hour early this morning so that I would be out on reasonably virgin snow, rather than ice and it was well worth it. Now I find my right cleat is transmitting the cold directly to my foot! Lovely!

Great ride this morning - stayed off the road due to the compacted ruts - back end of the MTB was stepping out. Stayed on the pavements for a bit, then took an off road route to work - bottom gear job through 6" of fresh snow - fabulous.... I'm a snug git....

Also got Snow Stud tyres in the post as well.....(that's if the postie can get through)........

The snow had fell just before rush hour in Glasgow. Made for complete chaos on the roads. Somehow I managed it on my 25mm tyres!

My feet were pretty cold by the end, despite the overshoes and two pairs of thermolite socks!;)

P.S. My camera cable wasn't plugged in right!

Well that was insane...... Walked out of the car park at work, managed half the journey home on the bike then hit traffic jams as none of the roads had been gritted or cleared in any way. Roads closed all over the place so I ended up walking the rest of the journey. Took me nearly two hours to get home.

While stuck in the queue of traffic some guy behind me kept revving his engine as if he wanted me out of his way, problem was the 30 or 40 other cars in front of me weren't moving anywhere.

Glad I'm not back in work now 'til Saturday and just looked out the window and it's coming down again.

The amount of people trying to drive as if there was no snow on the ground was unbelievable too.

Time for a cup of green tea and get my toes warm.

Be safe out there everyone !

I am in Manchester and there was about 8-10 inches when I got up this morning. It is still coming down now. Main roads are passable with care but side roads are under a thick layer of snow. The main concern is that when I was shovelling the snow off the drive this morning there was a thin layer of ice underneath which makes travelling around potentially dangerous.
