Ok, I ordered this item, quite a specific item on the 7th of sept, the guy said he had it in stock and would post it straight away.
I had given up on it, and sourced it from somewhere else where I had to take time out to go and collect it pesonally.
The original item has just come through the letter box!

Whats the point of this story, I hear you ask? Well there isn't one really!

But yes there is a postal strike.

Even so, almost eight weeks! How was it sent; by bike from New Zealand?

Barnet,
I have just received two books from a bookshop, delivered by the local postie this morning. I ordered them last wednesday. I am getting the normal post through as well. Could it be the way the local sorting office is organised and run so that after three days of disruption the clear up is quicker?

My driving licence has gone missing in the post and the DVLA wouldn't acknowledge it till it was missing for at least three weeks.

Apart from that absolutely nothing - all my mails arriving on time. Spoke to my postman the other day and he say's him and the rest of the guys in our local depot have been working nightshifts - to minimise the disruption to our post.
