Why is it that many people can't close a door without slamming it? The worst one is car doors. My car is only 4 months old and I dread when someone slams the door when they get out so I am in the habit of reminding them not to, whether they like it or not. But the same happens at home. Doors are not made to be slammed are they? Quietly does it, it is much better on the ears , saves a big rush of air going through the house and less wear and tear on the locks.

I try to shut my car door quietly when I finish work at stupid o'clock but it only seems to half-close which means I have to reopen it and try again, but with added gusto...

its very true , no door should need slamming to close unless it needs adjustment
