Only viewed? I got a go on it last night outside The Minster. A fun toy it is.

I could tell you liked it! But what's not to like!?

It's going to be seriously wierd, later today, to get back on my day to day upright, after nearly a month of nothing but triking.

It was bloody cold yesterday. Sorry I missed you Cathryn, but I can imagine it was a bit chilly for Arthur.

Loafer - I never spotted a CC top, sorry. I was in Velo Vision mode, sartorially.

I bought a few bits and piece - best thing was a couple of handlebar spacer things (like the spacebar, only cheapo) to help fit lights on the trike - got two, and might get another today, so I can now carry two lights up front and two sets at back.

Just off in 20 mins to meet a couple of mates for breakfast before sussing out the Grand Parade - if it looks like being a repeat of last year's fiasco we'll make our own way down to the Racecourse, but I think they've changed the route anyway to the Riverside path - nice, but clearly motivated by the need to be out of the way of any real roadusers with engines if the Police won't escort us...

Seemed a bit slow yesterday - yeah the weather was not ideal, but that's nearly always the case, and people come. Quite a few regulars not bothered/busy elsewhere this year. Shame. I wonder if it's the beginning of the end.

Still, I had a fun day thinking up alternative rides for the Amsterdame bloke on the next stand:

Everyone brings a bit of fruit: Amsterjam. Everyone eats shellfish the whole way: Amsterclam. Everyone gets lots of emails about the event: Amsterspam. Everyone wears platforms and big wigs: Amsterglam....

I suspect he'll have run away today!

I did think yesterday that there was nothing new (although admittedly I didn't go into the trade enclosure so may well be talking out of my hat). It's a great event and I love going, but maybe things need to be refreshed so there's always something new to see. And I also think that weather made a massive change to the numbers.

There wasn't much new in the Trade area either really (except of course the spangly new Electric Bike Magazine (coming soon!) display stuff.

I think weather would affect locals and some day trippers, but I know several regulars who just aren't bothering this year, who have been there come rain (more likely) and shine in the past.

We've all been saying for a while that it's slowly dying off - it needs a boost, but alas boosts tend to involve a lot of commercialism, so it could well become something else altogether.

And the Knavesmire, thanks to the Racecourse owners, is becoming a bit of a hassle.

Apparently, there are now signs up forbidding joggers from running on the track. In case they 'wear it out'.

What's a bloody horse going to do!

I went. It was a lot smaller than I expected. Had a great shoulder massage for a fiver and joined the Rough Stuff Fellowship, a lifelong ambition. Got some info on The Clarion too so they'll be next.

And OMG, if you had an attraction to paunchy middle aged white men wearing tired lycra you'd be in heaven.

you're going to have to enlarge on that........
IGMC

happily we all know that the Rough Stuff Fellowship is a society for (mostly) chaps who ride touring bikes off road. Because otherwise we'd be a bit concerned.

There was a bloke on Sunday had an entirely spherical body....

BTW, I think you've just summed up my best chance above...

I think that one in the middle looks a bit like you actually! (Facially I mean, I have no idea what your musculature is like)
