Why? I don't see it should be any harder than any other time with a normal bike. Now clipping back in at 20mph/100rpm on fixed, that is harder.

An advantage of clipless is that you can keep dry feet when the pedals are onlt dipping 2 or 3 inches under the water by pedalling with one leg, pushing from crank up to crank horizontal, then lifting back up for another push.
