So far, apart from one ride, I've still been out in my shorts..... this mild spell should really make winter pass quicker.

It is when the clocks go forward again at the end of March, so only three and a half months.

We are also only about three weeks away from the shortest day.

Which leads me onto extolling the benefits of being large or as Strava put it 200 lbs+.

We don't feel the cold like the archetypal skellator-esque willow and whippet thin 'elites' do.

Get a bit too hot sometimes in the summer mind.

I like autumn and winter for many reasons including the colours of the leaves and watching them whirl and twirl in the wind; long muddy walks with the dog where I too can splash in the puddles as I'm wearing wellies; beautiful sunrises and sunsets; comfort food like soups and stews and hot chocolate; clear nights where the stars gleam like diamonds on black velvet; waking up to frosty morning when the world glistens; SNOW! Obviously I dislike the rain but when it's cold, it's ok as I can wear waterproofs without boiling alive. And it's meant to rain in winter whereas the squelchiness of the summer of 2012 was just miserable. Spring is my least favourite season as it promises so much but takes so long to get going. You know where you stand with winter.

Autumn is my fave time of year, summer is good, spring can be a bit of a let down, but i do like the sunny spring days.

Winter doesn't bother me as much as it used to.

The bonus of winter is we can go down to the coast (Lyme Regis is 20 mins from me) and enjoy the place without the tourists. A few of the cafes stay open and the new sea wall is great to walk round and watch the storm clouds across the sky.

Barnet,
I felt the coolness the last two days at work. Shunting around the depot was a bit cooler than the last couple of days. Time to wrap up a bit..

At least in late autumn/ winter I can get the Woodburner lit, it makes the front room really cosy plus free boiling water from the camping kettle. In the summer I have to sit outside with the Chiminea praying it doesn't rain to get a similar feeling.
