it's dry outside and you're still contemplating whether to get out on the bike on your day off.

6/7 Weeks off - weak and unfit...should I brave it?

Plus another one- how come the sight of rain bothers me now? Way too long of not riding!

You're obviously not a serious cyclist

no Crackle I put down the serious cyclist stripes a few weeks ago...besides what's all this with taking yourself too seriously!

I think a break is good now and again. You're right it doesn't do to take yourself too seriously, I stopped that decades ago.

I reckon you plan a pure pleasure ride to somewhere nice and take an excuse to stop, like a camera. One ride should wet your appetite again.

Start as you mean to go on I say - going to laze or a bit more then head out - my bike's looking a little sorry for itself parked up and unused.

A gentle pootle should be what I need - that's if I can keep it to a pootle as still not quite back to health.

Get on your bike Grace - London is nice today. Bimble around Hyde Park and soak up the sights of people meandering. I'm going to get a photo of my blue bike on its last commute of the year - probably around Marble Arch, although Trafalgar Square is monumentally tempting...just for CycleChat archival purposes.
Not only will you look a million dollars, you'll feel it too!

I'll take your word for it Teef - all this talk of mouses, meers, fat lushes etc means I should get out and meander. Just need to swap saddles first and have a cup of tea.

I've been on the bike today 1st time in nearly 3 weeks,2 mile round trip to the library on the hybrid.Noticed the brakes were making an awful racket so took them off when I got back and the front ones are worn right to the metal!!
Got on the drop-bar-quick nip to the lbs-shut:angry: Oh well 6+ miles in total.
Hope you got out in the end.
+ felt every one of those 7lbs I've put on since start of December!

Get out now while you can - it's gonna freeze big time. 32 lumpy miles today, first ride in 12 days.

You've got to start somewhere! Did the same myself today after about 3 weeks off due to illness. Pace was worse than pathetic but I felt good afterwards and things can only get better from here...

Getting out of the house is the hardest thing but its all good after that

Got myself out and about earlier today- was good to be on the bike and feel the wind rushing through my ears and hair. Did just under 9 miles which is a nice short ride - was strange to not see many cyclists about but I suppose most people aren't commuting this time of year and are home with family. Fitness has definitely dropped off a bit as feel all wheezy and phlegmy and that lung burn sensation I only used to get up tricky hills settled in a few miles on the flat but I'm sure that will improve with time as long as I don't push myself too soon.

Might even go out again tommorow!
