You walk into a pub and you

look in your pocket.

Horror of horrors. You have only got money for one drink and one drink only.

The bar is a very special one and sells everything. What's your choice?

For me a pint of Guinness

If it is that good I would get Water:biggrin: and then head off to the shops to get 2 drinks:evil:

If you can have anything, why drink Guiness? I would have either...

a Mohito made with a Havana Club 7-year old rum, the finest sugar and fresh mint....

or

a glass of Tokaji Aszú-Eszencia...

or

a glass of Château Montus Prestige, 1999.

If I am eating - Red wine (something from the med)
If I am thirsty - a pint of John Smiths or London Pride.
On a hot day by a river - G & T
Somewhere abroad - a local beer or wine depending on the above.
On a cold day - Scotch & Ginger
If I am on my best behaviour - Port
Cider if I am west of Bristol.
Guinness in the winter.

Basically anything has its merits apart from Pernod and Ouzo. I got really, really drunk on them about 30 years ago and still cant touch either.

Because it's what I feel like at present.

Not going down the wine route as many know it's a bit of a hobby of mine but I never drink it in a pub. Not the right environment to enjoy a decent wine.

Who said anything about a pub? You said it was a bar! Stop changing the rules after the game has started...
