In the 90's I worked at Endsleigh garden centre in Ivybridge. Thankfully I worked out side and wasn't subjected to the full hit, but it was the era of those awful pan pipes.
They played it all through the indoor areas. There was a version of Nothing Compares 2U, the 2U bit was ever so slightly off key to my ear. I can still hear it now, thanks for that.....

The full lift-muzak treatment given to "This is the day" by The The in some shop, staring into space while Mrs Dr B saved the economy of whatever town the shop was located. I did start gently sobbing until summoned to a different shop.

Vivaldi's Four Seasons. I liked it the first time I heard it but have grown to hate it over the years as it's just used by advertisers and film-makers as a lazy stand-in for "classical music."
