Halfway up the hill is a good place for a strategic photo stop. Mind you with that amount of luggage it would have been my third.
Did you go under the viaduct on the road off the Hawes/Ingleton road?

It was quite the climb! Yes, came under the viaduct. It was marked as 'road closed' (due to subsidence) but as is usually the case it was fine to get through for pedestrians and cyclists.
