Here are a couple from my ride yesterday

I attended Stanley Tech, in South Norwood Hill I think it was, oh yeah
Where the bronze bust was nicked, let me think it must have been in my third year

Stanley Tech is now called the Harris Academy, but the Stanley Hall is still there. William Hall Stanley who founded it was an interesting chap - he had an early patent on the use of wire spokes in bicycle wheels. Stormzy went to Stanley Tech as well as Captain Sensible.

The Higsons come from Norwich, woah oh
But I prefer East Grinstead, woah oh
And I'm running out of living

I'd forgotten about this thread. It didn't really catch on, did it.

Here's a picture of my bike about to board the Tilbury crossing. The picture is actually taken on the Gravesend side of the river - but close enough. You can see Tilbury on the other side of the river.

The song is "The Locktender's Lament", about a Mermaid who swam all the way from the Thames to the Monongahela River in Pennsylvania to find the young sailor who had promised to marry her, only to find that he had already married Miss Catfish, and was the father of triplets.

I said to her, “Lizzie, you might catch your death!”
She said to me, “Guv’nor, I’m catching me breath.
I’ve swum from the Thames to the Mongahaylee
To find pretty Jackie, my husband to be!”

“I met pretty Jackie at Tilbury Docks
And sat at the bowsprit a-mending his socks.
He said that he loved me and he’d marry me –
His name is Jack Swabbie, the U.S. Navee!”

There's nothing like a bit of Old Skool... Except they spelled in incorrectly!
