In Italy's Po valley somewhere - sign suggests it's a direct train to Milan but I was passing through there to a few miles south. Got fed up with the mosquitos/midges in the Po valley and jumped ahead on a trip from Switzerland to Rome.

Cool. I thought you were in the FEVE region: that's a fairly extensive metre gauge netwirk in northern Spain, and one of the few left in Europe.
