I'll have to to try the YHA option, it sounds very good.

Do you get full access to the kitchen and washing facilitues? Charging for eBikes?
Yes all the facilities, at Windermere the campers kitchen etc is in a bungalow type building and there's sockets there was someone charging their ebike one time🙂 can use the main hostel kitchen too. Just be aware a couple of years ago someone stole my food from the fridge, they provide stickers and pens. I don't stay there as often as it's busy.

Family connection here: that was the YHA where sister had her first proper* job!

*We don't count the boring government clerk jobs she had ;)

Good trip if tiring. Arrived in Prestatyn around 1pm so did some shopping (birthday present for daughter) then checked in to the site. Set up the awning and managed a sit down for a while (very hot). Off to coast for MrsF and daughter to swim with friends (from when we had a static in the area). Chippy for tea, and back to site for 7:30. Chilled out with a fire.

Noticed next but one plot couldn't start car, and plot next to us was about to push it. I ran to my boot and produced a battery jump starter. Got the car going immediately. First time camper who had been charging their phone and had doors open.

Went to bed about 11ish. Crash bang whallop at around 1:30am, as next door's gazebo took off and crashed into my van.

Brand new gazebo, ruined immediately - I'd jumped out, pulled it off the van and was pulling it down, before the lady next door got out of bed. The stupid idiot hadn't even tied it down. Scratched my van, but I'll polish that out.

Then to Llyn Padarn for Kayak and paddleboarding. Got soaked in the end as the rain came in, so everything was dripping going back into the van.

Tired now but fitted a lot into about 30 hours.

Off again. Same campsite as last week. Just had to divert down tiny back roads and up big hills as the main road in Gronant (near Prestatyn) is closed due to a fatal accident. Fortunately it's all back roads I used to cycle on a fair amount. Bit tight in a van.

Beechcroft Campsite near Blackwell in the peak district. Wild Country Zephros compact 2. Not charging anything ?
Next trips using small panniers instead.

I'm too old for this modern jargon: do you mean cycle-touring? (or maybe cycle-camping?).
Anyway, looks a nice spot - sunny and sheltered!

Bit of both as a fair bit is off road. Easiest bit was the tissington trail bikepacking equivalent of a newly tarmaced road everything else is rough.

11 nights in Trevellas(St Agnes-ish) the tent held up well to a few days of gusting wind and some hot hot sun. Immaculate facilities and mins from the coastal path, returning we shall be!

Van packed, food in the fridge/food boxes. Off to Shell Island for 3 days/2 nights. Two sets of friends joining in their VDubs - we'll be in the Tent this time as daughter coming.

Paddle board packed. I 'may' have a little dip in the sea. We couldn't have camped previously in one vehicle with daughter - just wasn't room. Removed middle two seats and the table system, then slid the rear three all the way forward, so we have a big 'boot'. Camper bed is still in place under the parcel shelf.

Daughter bringing laptop and ipad as she has some 'work' to do for a 'commission' with The Imperial War Museum ! That will be run off 'solar'.
