A fitting end to my 20 yr old Vango? ... veteran of 4 Glastonburys.
My son took it to north Wales recently, it got shredded in the wind, boo hoo. I got the blame for lending him a 'rubbish' tent!

Not sure yet, my wife hasn't told me that much. I do know the only ferry crossing will be Liverpool to Belfast, but where we go from there I don't know.

I'll ask when I do know , thanks.

Will you be cycling over? We've taken the bikes via that route a few times and have always been treated well by Stena.

No. I may bring the bike, but we'll be using our camper van - my wife doesn't even cycle, never mind doing so with what we'd need for camping (and as said above, we no longer camp with a tent

so do drunk adults, and wildlife and traffic and car alarms....
Maybe I'm going to the wrong campsites then, as this is something that even at festivals, is almost non existent in my experience - ! ^_^
But wildlife noises, we don't have a problem with. :okay:

Devon you were great, the old ovlov averaged 45mpg towing that lot surprisingly considering the traffic down the M6-5!
Arty pictures of our daughter and our eldest cocker who’s her shadow.

Last minute camping trip at the weekend, making the most of the dry September evenings...

IMG_20240831_174259652_HDR.jpg

On to the Circe Helios Tandem, Carry freedom trailer with a Zarges box on top for all the gear.

Two hours later, set up and enjoying a goujon supper on top of the Zarges camping table. We even brought little chairs this time.

Then it was around the corner to Pirates golf under the floodlights. The best crazy golf in NI for sure.

Next morning, up at away by 8:30am, stopping by the Belfast big fish on the way back.

No drama, total success ^_^

Had a few days at my favourite coastal campsite recently. :okay:
The site was full the time I was there, but I was the only tented occupier, every other couple; it's an adults only site, was in large caravans or equally large motorhomes.
Am I missing a point - ?

After a particularly rubbish couple of nights this year where it seemed having a campervan was an excuse to (a) behave like a drunken nobber all weekend and (b) slam the door closed every time even in the middle of the night we'll be choosing our sites carefully from now on.

We have Adult only sites, how long before someone starts a 'No Campervans'?

There are tent-only sites. I don't think there are any which allow caravans but not campervans.

'No Campervans'?
If you observe the choice of tent sizes recently, there appears to be a trend towards couples getting bigger and bigger tents.
Not at all unusual for them to have a six - eight berth tunnel tent with all the bells & whistles; tables, large chairs, cookers, fridge, glassware, telly, etc., etc..

I’d go as far as comfort and being about to sustain ourselves for a period of time in the tent when it’s raining.
Fridge, a 240/12v cool box is key for keeping milk cold for a brew! Essential🤣
