I always thought the rain stopped the idiots coming out, but obviously they're too stupid to notice.

Nope, I think you'll find it brings more of the idiots out. Those that would have walked to the bus stop see a little bit of rain and decide to get in their cars instead.

I had someone yesterday who decided to pull alongside me, start moving over towards the kerb. He then sticks his left indicator on and goes half up onto the pavement so he can post his letters . He just missed my front wheel and I lost all momentum going uphill.

Here for rides.
Beautiful blissful commute this morning; it all came together I seemed to have another's lungs and legs and flew in faster than I've ever managed before despite being into the wind most of the way

First time out for 2 weeks since I had my cold so just an easy peasy lemon squeezy 20 miles this morning, though that wind was hard work at times and the one and only short hill hurt me! Tomorrow club run is advertised as a 100 plus miles so I think I will give that a miss and have another easy ride out on my own.

Had a 60 miler that involved several pretty steep hill climbs on road and a section of muddy off road trail. Am quite pleased with how good I feel especially considering it pee'd down for a good half of the ride.

I did 47 miles today, did a steep climb called Swiss Hill, 2 others that where not that steep. Was quite fast despite the wind, did it in 2:28.

There was quite a few idiots on the road though, I was cycling along, woman in 4x4 with kids in car pulled out even tho she knew I was there, had to break, only for her to turn off a further 10 meters down the road!!!

Then this guy in a car was going along, pulled over to the left when I was behind him, he did not even indicate, just stopped there.

Then this part of road, bus lane on left, main road on right, in between this the cycle lane, I pulled right into the cycle lane, she pulled left into the bus lane where she should not have been, did not indicate, shown how stupid she was, had to stop at red lights where if she did not do such a stupid move she's be ahead.

And the usual, people not giving enough room and overtaking on blind bends etc....

Got a pass last night, with caveats on return time (mid morning).

Been hankering after the Bluebell Railway for a while. Had to set off shortly after 0500 to make this one back in time, but all proved quite nice. Weather was miserable. Foggy, rain, drizzle, eventually warming up for sunrise, then reverting to form.

Still, nice to get some miles in, even if they were bleedin early.

Out from mine to the Bluebell Railway, arriving far too early for trains, but taking about 2 hours to get there. Was only 15 miles or so from Brighton for a while, so very tempting to go see the sea instead.

Resisted though, and made it back for about half ten.

More details when I get the time, but the headline is: 71.95 miles, 5 hours, 14 and a bit average. Lots of hills and slippery lanes.

Oh, and if I'd known AH was only 5 miles ahead on cyclogs, I'd have popped to the shops on the way back. Curses.

That was about my 5th time up, was the hardest, I don't know if it's just my tyres are pretty worn, I felt I was going slower than normal due to this, was constantly slipping, I had to sit down for parts I usually can stand up most of the way, nearly went into the side and fell off

Did a bit of cyclocross action today. Only a 20mile ride, 10 of which off road along the North Cornwall path between Gwithian and Portreath.

Met a couple MTB riders going the other way struggling against the wind.

The best thing about a CycloX bike, is that you can go off road, but still maintain Roadie speeds on the road!

Slightly different sort of ride for me yesterday, dragged the family out, 2 yr old onthe back of my mtb, my wife took the 5 yr old on the tag along behind her bike. Went along the waterlink way to Greenwich, saw a different view of London quick snippets of mad traffic and people rushing about and then quite a calm serene view of woodland and flowing water along side of the river Ravensbourne. Very nice would reccomend it to people with kids in the area.
Oh and the wife is feeling the effects of the ride as well on her legs so thats the added bonus.

No big ride for me today, got a streamer of a cold, but i just took a pootle down the shops (all of 1 mile round trip ;))....and i just saw a Red Kite over the edge of the city
They're a common sight 10 miles away, but never have i seen one over the houses here. Its like there's an unseen barrier they never cross over...till today.

Tour de Londres-Campagne. Brixton, over Westminster Bridge, past Oxford Circus, round Regents Park, across the Edgeware Road, down through Hyde Park (well, to be honest, that road at the western edge that has the police with automatic weapons), Gloucester Road, South Ken, breakfast at Sloane Square, across Clapham Common and home. All very civilised. Apart from the rain which was drenching across Clapham Common.

Had a wonderful dawn and sunrise ride through the Peak District. Saw the dawn coming up looking back into Sheffield over the Snake Pass, past a sleepy Ladybower and misty hope valley with the sun trying to break through, blueish skies by the time I got into Nottinghamshire. Might put some photos up, don't think they turned out that well in the low light.
