Just seen the second report on TTF (hadn't been on there since Saturday afternoon) - so he managed two very quick rides in the space of 3 days! Incredible.

The Tour of Pembroke was sort of enjoyable........ I remember why I was not sure to ride or not - I can't stand riding in the rain!!!!!!! After the initial rain had stopped, I could take off my boil in the bag waterproof so I was bordering on happy, the heavens had to open again didn't they- great! I was pleased that we took a big chunk out of last years time though...

Looking forward to the Dragon now, it'll be fine i'm sure.... I hope.... I pray....

A good fast'ish 40 odd miles with the club, pity I had to do it on the winter bike, the only minor problem was my chain coming off but to my delight the group waited at the next junction. We averaged 19.5mph for 40 miles, at one point however we were passed by a faster group, it was like we were standing still.

that was very nice of them, last time i dropped my chain post drinks fill up stop only one guy noticed and his shouts failed to stop the rest of the group

but we worked hard together and manage to beat a group of 10 back to the start, despite having done the exact same mialge as them :evil:;) they were surprised to say the least, made me smile so it did :smile::thumbsup:

Did your group not speed up to hang on or overtake the other super fast group? I'd be off me!, I hate it when being overtaken

A mad rush after work looking for a new seat clamp for my Bianchi, crisis averted I think. I went to the bike works, they couldn't help, tried the tri centre, it was shut, tried the co op they referred me to their mechanics they could help either, tried Velo Ecosse very helpful chap (hadn't seen him before) and he knew what I was on about before I even explained, unfortunately he couldn't help either. Popped by MacDonalds cycles in case the boss (Colin) was in (he's great the staff unfortunately aren't so hot). He tried a couple of other Bianchi's and found an almost identical clamp with my 35.8mm shim it seems a perfect fit. Just chillin out now and watched the Hayles finish, when I can be bothered I'll make tea and carefully tighten the clam with a torque wrench.
If I've got my sums right I averaged over 15.5mph which is good for the 37mm shod Ridgeback in traffic, with work trowsers, full pannier and lots of traffic lights (why is every one red when you're in a rush ). The computer said I maxed out at 32.7mph. Took my gilet off when I got home hadn't thought I'd sweated but the short sleive shirt underneath was soaked.

To sum it all up big hand to Colin in MacDonald Cycles :bravo:

Fun fun fun today, what with the tube strike 'n all. Numpties everywhere, weaving in & out of traffic, totally oblivious. It's on days like this you wonder how the fatality rate isn't through the roof. The stupidity of the species has to be seen to be believed. One of those extremely rare days you just can't wait to get home. In one piece. And away from these suicidal muppets.

I set out from home this morning and within 200 metres two motorbikes had a coming together, luckily no serious damage to the riders and passenger, as far as I could see, but it makes for more cautious riding for a while!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
