Out to Richmond Park on the Globe, for a cheeky anticlockwise lap on the tracks round the perimeter ;)
Went via Halfords to take a looksee at a GT MTB I have me eye on (it's on sale until Monday). The hybrid Globe isn't the best off road and deffo does not instil confidence down some of those hills!

Total miles: Just shy of 20 but I am planning on a longer ride on the road bike in the morning.

Back from another early morning 40 mile blast around Birmingham's roads. Nice empty roads, all lights bar one set in my favour and only one git in a Saab convertible who cut across me at a small roundabout forcing me to go round again instead of piling into the driver's side door.

Recce for Bromley Cyclists ride with Andy Ilovebikes and a few others. Starting off in Robertsbridge, Kent, a westerly clockwise direction into East Sussex passing through Brightling, Cowbeech, Muddles Green, Berwick amongst others. Lunch of roast pork and a beer for me, roast turkey and an orange juice for ilovebikes at the Yew Tree in Arlington. After lunch, on to the Cuckoo Trail, down through the marshes to Pevensey, along the coast then up to Battle. Train to Sevenoaks, then a nice 6 mile spin home.
I was in Battle yesterday, having a barbecue with some friends. I even sampled barbecued squirrel

60 miles round one of my usual loops - Douglas, Muirkirk, Strathaven. Out at 7 and home just after 10.15. Roads very quiet this morning - only saw 2 other folk on bikes:sad: and not a lot of cars either for large sections

Quick 21 miles at 10.30am, after washing wife's car, cutting grass etc.

Loads of scalps, flew past a guy an a Focus Izalco, all over Assos...... I said 'morning' - didn't even look at me - probably spotted the steel 653 Ribble passing him at speed....miserable bugger.

Came back, hoovered both cars, put lunch in oven...... busy...

About lazy 30miles down the lanes, although probably didn't go more than 8 miles from the house in Watford. Got to play with some Marathon Supreme ballon tyres for the road on the MTB so that was something and found some new routes. Not very fit atm...

189 kilometres from Morecambe to Saltburn by the Sea near Middlesbrough on a coast to coast with my eldest son. 2227 metres of climb and all. I'm burnt (despite it being cool/cold for the most part and very tired so I'm about to fall asleep. I don't know if it's 'cos of the distance or the relief all the planning and logistics came to fruition (for the most part) and I can finally switch off. Either way, it's a good feeling to have got from the Irish to the North sea under our own steam.

39 sunny miles, albeit breezy at times.
Quite a few other riders out in the afternoon, 4 Red Kite, 1 Kestrel real close up, 1 Black Swan on a mill pond at Blatherwyke ;), nearly ran over a greylag at the same point (too busy watching a Red Kite) and nearly got a Chaffinch some miles later on.
Very very busy with cyclists at Lowdham (Notts) this morning...charity ride perhaps ?

Just jammed in a 10-12 miler around the hills on the SS MTB. Lovely evening, aside from the labradors trying to get you off every 5 mins, and being able to see nothing at all heading West. Lots of balloons flying too, which is always nice to see. Cue someone starting on about global warming....

Stonehenge, Happy Times yeh? Peace man, cool...

Well, I hauled my 'modest' 100kg to Stonehenge, which makes the feat of the folk who dragged the tonnage of stones, double that distance, from Wales to form Stonehenge, supercyclists!

I'll expand this report later I hope, but a quiet amble from Heathrow to Amesbury was interrupted at Staines when I, lost in my contemplations, was overrun by a group of about twelve couriers from Hackney ('LFGSS' and 'Moving Target' contributors I believe)...all with geared bikes bar one...but it made for an interesting ride down.

I immediately fell into FNRttC mode (sat at the back) and helped out. Mostly helped myself as I had two! One of their riders broke a drive side spoke, we pulled into a garage and out came the chain whip, cassette tool, and an immaculate Colnago classic bike was expertly repaired. Impressive stuff.

So, thanks for the company, Darren, Martin (expert tech), Jason, Sam, all those who I didn't get to chat with and a special word for Roger, who exchanged short sharp bursts of jousting with traffic in London City with the cool night air and the rolling hills - he was cramping up badly. I bored them rigid (as usual) with details of the full-moon rides to the Coast - hopefully they will make contact.

There were people older than me at The Solstice -bizarre extras from a Sonny and Cher look-a-like film. My goodness!

I'm stopping now or else I'll still be explaining at 11:30! Interesting, interesting, interesting...
