Well, I'm not long in from a 26 mile ride.
It was very different from my usual ride. I was asked to go out, and told the rough route we'd be taking.
I knew the area but didn't realise how hilly it would be!!
We headed through Bo'ness, and up towards Blackness Castle on the Forth.
Then along towards South Queensferry (but didn't go all the way along).
It was starting to get dark, and by the time we looped around and into Linlithgow from the Broxburn side, it was dark.
Luckily I had planned for that and had lights with me.
Most of this was on roads and the traffic was building up by the time we hit Linlithgow.
I got home about 6pm, had food and a hot bath.
I'm feeling quite pleased with myself as I don't 'do' roads and even although I was quite anxious at times, I managed it.
My knees are already aching from all the hills
I only took two photos - halfway up a hill that never ended! Cemetery hill will look like a walk in the park after that one!
I had to stop half way - that's my glove in the bottom corner!
But what a view...
I was going out for a ride tomorrow but it's Tai Chi class so that will probably be enough!

). The moron saw my gesture of frustration and immediately stopped to ask "what's your problem". My response was unfortunately not diplomatic and certainly not suitable for CycleChat and he ended up following me onto the estate to carry on the argument. Apparently I can't complain about his driving because he didn't "actually hit me or run me off the road".
Words were exchanged and I don't think either of us came out of it well, but I think I won the moral high ground when after repeatedly calling me names he offered (but failed to carry it through) to get out and "settle it right here". How childish!

There was loads of traffic rat running (unusual for a tuesday, 'til I remembered it's the Shrewsbury vs Chelsea match this evening) and I had the pleasure of filtering past a long queue at Atcham. More close passes on the A49 which I refrained from being stroppy about this time coz I don't want any more rows.
all day
