When you are giving someone a blood transfusion there are lots of checks to go through, some involve checking the donor blood group against the recipients. My idea is to cross match someones blood on admission, then give them the wrist band of a specific colour. The donor blood bag labels are the same colour, so orange for A, blue for B etc. A final bedside check would be to check the donation blood bag and the wrist band colours matched.
