I'm hoping to do a round trip from Roscoff to La Redorte (Near Carcassonne), starting in April.

Hopefully Brittany might have started to dry out a bit by April.

Access to all canal towpaths in Brittany has been banned since late January because of the phenomenal amount of rain that fell. Since then there's been no let-up and it's been an equally wet February.

There's widespread flooding and it isn't receding because the rivers are unable to drain into the sea because of the very high tides.

You should be OK heading south from Roscoff if you choose a reasonably high-level route and avoid the Blavet, Oust and Vilaine rivers.

PM me nearer the time (if you want) for the current status.

Thanks for the update.

Fingers crossed things start to dry out a bit by April and we get a break in the weather.

I’ll check in nearer the time for a fresh update. Much appreciated.

After the success of last year's tour we're doing another Netherlands tour in June. Plan so far is overnight ferry from North Shields to Ijmuiden then going Amsterdam, Naarden, Apeldoorn, Arnhem, Nijmegen, Duerne, Eindhoven, Tilburg, Rotterdam and then 3 nights in Den Haag to finish. Some accomodation booked already. Looking forward to it

As my health declines I have had to accept that camping is no longer possible as I cannot get in and out of the tent or sleeping bag. i managed 1000k down Portugal last year on a fully supported ride with hotels (Up at 5 and finished by 1pm due to the 42 degree heat!)

I am a bit nervous going solo now but may do a trip to Normandy for a few days of hotel touring if I can find a slot and the weather is ok.

there must be, my parents and thousands of cruise passengers regularly park long term. A quick google turned up this: https://www.relyongroup.co.uk/cruise-parking

Might also be easy to a park in a town away from Dover and get a short train ride in?

The Premier Inn on the seafront about 400 m from eastern docks does parking if you stay the night there first. Not sure the Deal but we met someone there when we stayed the night there was leaving their car for a few days.

I’m sorry to hear of this. I used to read your tour reports with interest. You did some big rides and your camping trips were inspirational. Glad you found a work-around and best wishes.

A lot of Premier Inns are fine with parking for a few days. We did the KAW in tents, but the 'arrival' night and the final night were at the hotel, and they let us leave the car there for 4 days in-between. Just call them first.
