Zipped GPX Files

Cant seem to open my zipped gpx file so I can put my maps onto my Garmin. I am running windows 7, does anyone have an idea how to open the zipped file?

Ah, if you can see the file you might need to copy/drag it out to a windiws folder.

If that still doesn't work then your pc doesn't recognise the file extension and which program to associate it with.

Windows 7 (and later) handles .zip files natively so if it doesn't open, it's not a proper zip file. Best bet is to try and get hold of the data again from whatever source the original came from.

Try 7-Zip it's a bit more powerful than winzip imo.

right-click --> extract all

Cheers Andrew, but that didn't work, the 7 Zip however did!, the older I get the worse at IT I get, now I know how my parents feel lol
