Sounds about right. 30-40 minutes sort of makes sense. Priming the pump and pipes for full bore action takes a little time :sweat::sweat:
Maybe i should do better warmup too. I can feel that my pipes and pumps are not very well sync together. Sometimes they seems to yell me after 40km ride "was that 200km ride?".

@Brusgaard what bike did you use? I assume TT as you had an advantage over me on the flats that I clawed back on the climb. Did you change bikes or use same bike all the way through?

I used the Cervelo S5 + Zipp 454 all the way. I rode like planned with below FTP (about 3.2-3.5 wkg) on the flats and slightly above FTP (3.8-4.2) on the climb.

Will probably try again tonight on the TT with Zipp 808s, as I don’t have the discwheel.

Something bit of unusual happened in yesterdays Giros TT. One rider didn't cross the finish line in a time limit. Not happened very often especially after short TT like yesterday.

Who was the rider that had the mechanical at the base of the climb. Took way to long to get him going again.
I don't know how well Finnish Eurosport commentators knows that case but they said that there wasn't any kind of technical issues behind of that. They speculated that maybe hi was very tense or something healthy issue what cause that.

No worries.

I got back yesterday as well.

I was in Port de Pollenca as well at the Puerto Azul hotel. Where did you stay?

Fantastic place to ride. I've been with a bunch of guys from a mix of clubs for 4 of the last 5 years.

Glad you enjoyed it. Didn't do Sa Calobra this year but I agree its a special ride.

We stayed at Aparthotel flora. Was a really clean/tidy hotel catered for cyclist quite well and was only a 100mtrs or so from the front.
My preparation for Sa Colabra wasn’t the best as had a few beers the night before and a bit of a ride out there so ended up climbing back up at 2pm. Soooooo hot! Aimed for under an hour and got 55mins so was well chuffed.

Had another go at Stage 5 at 3 pm , only had time for 5/6 minute warm up but managed to stay with lead group all way round , felt pretty good and improved previous time to @peterob 27:45 .

I did the TT and Zip/disc combo today and was 11 seconds slower. I gained on the flat, but lost about 40 secs on the climb. Ave watts on the flat was 2 lower today, and on the climb about 10 lower ... so for all intents and purposes about the same (overall ave 268 yesterday to 262 today).legs a little fatigued but I don't think this is why I was 11 secs down. So not sure there is really anything in it for me - be interesting if you see similar results.

Well I've had my go at the Giro TT course. I surprised myself with my time. However I am unsure of the reliability of the power numbers, 270-290 w most of the way up the climb

Avg was just above threshold ^_^

My Kickr hated high % gradients, resistance would be all over the place and power numbers very unreliable. Could be the same issue? Was you at 100% realism?

Sorry @Del C i didn’t see this until this morning. Got back yesterday. Not that it matters now but I was in Port de Pollença. Amazing place to ride, Sa Collabra is something else. (My first time, late to the party I know). Would have defiantly met up for a ride though.
There was a second time you two just missed each other.

I noticed that you ride 3-laps. That makes me thought that you are testing different frame/wheelset combinations but you ride with same set a whole session.

I used TT for first lap, then switched to a normal set up (Trek Emondo and Lightweights) for the rest. Just planned to do a few laps to get some time into the legs, and as I was on that course already it just made sense to keep going. It's a nice course - punchy 10 mins climb, with 20 mins of flat in between. I don't think climbs 2 and 3 were anything special :heat:
