Made mistake of doing Pack Rumble in Jungle. So so slow. Much slower than advertised. Even though I was 5min slower than my best up KOM. I had to wait 6m for lead to begin to catch up. I became really cold and so rather than carry on waiting rushed off to start the jungle bit of the ride only to cramp a bit so bailed. It’s getting to be a habit.
Kind of told you so there Bob a few weeks ago ..... the pack rides do seem to be aimed at the slowest of the pack so not great if you want a recovery ride at a decent enough pace to get the heart going.

I try and avoid those low w/kg rides unless i need a recovery ride where I force myself to do low watts. I made the mistake of doing a sweetspot with Steeps workout last night, 12x 45 seconds@340w sessions (4.5wkg) with a 2 minute rest at 240w (3.2w/kg), I was struggling by rep 12. I chose the Big Loop (up the mountain, through the jungle and round the volcano), once I'd finished the workout I still had 14km to do to finish the loop so carried on at an endurance(ish) pace.

So it's hard to believe I haven't raced in 2+ weeks. Between the family trip, work/meetings and timezone changes it's just been plain impossible to find a race time that would work. The timezone shift should sort itself out this weekend as the US moves back to standard time.

On a positive note, I keep cranking out the climbs (instead of racing) on my way to the tron bike. 70% at this point.

I've only ever done the 2-2.5w/kg Pack rides but I pretty much started on my zwift life on them and I found them to be very challenging (May/ June). Now though they are a very easy paced ride for me so I can keep my heart rate sub 125 bpm (after party aside). I'd wouldn't touch anything sub 2. They have their place and are very good, well-led rides that are what you make them.

I am also aiming for the Tron bike. I should be able to do another 10,000m over next few weeks but will then go up the tower every day to get it by or rather for Xmas.

The sad thing is I'm taunted when I log into the website to download my ride data as it shows 170+k ft of climbing. Too much done before I realized I should be doing the everest/tron thingie.
