As my bkool subs have run out I’ve just installed Zwift to give it a go, see what all the fuss is
I’m up for a group ride, if I can work out how to use it

yep - definitely a pro time - look at heart rate !
best i try and do something about it
talking of hrm - i think mine is about had it , what are people using ?

I have the Scosche rhythm+ which is very good. I like the fact it's an arm strap as it's very in restrictive. Only negative is it needs charging fairly frequently. That's fine if you're using it for turbo training as you can just stick on charge via the laptop USB after your ride. But if you're using it in the real world and you're like me you'll forget.

I also have the wahoo tickr. Again very good unit. Not really any negatives. I've not had to change the battery in over 3k miles. It's much better at picking up an initial signal than the garmin equivalent in my opinion. With the garmin I'd have to wet the sensor pads or wait to start sweating for it to start working. The wahoo just works no probs. If you want one do it all HRM I'd get this one.

Re the Wahoo hrm: mine stays in loft most of the time where I use the turbo. On Friday I turned on Strava on my phone as I left the house and it picked up the hrm over Bluetooth from the loft.
Now, if I had realised today was going to be so gloriousunny I would have negotiated a morning ride on the bike.

Bit of a weird one this afternoon. I did the 2.30 WBR 4 Lap flat race - I was in the start pen with all the other riders until with 10 seconds to go, they all disappeared! The timer stayed on but I was all alone for the whole time. The screen showed --/47 so the other riders must have been there, I just couldn't see them.

I decided to do an impromptu FTP test as I couldn't race invisible riders. The good news was my FTP increased by 17 watts - so regained about 2/3 of what I lost.

Very strange though.

This is a Zwift bug that's been going on for a few days now. Has been mentioned a lot on the Facebook page Zwift Racers.

And there was me thinking Zwift was bug free compared to BKool  Have they been poaching the Bkool programmers

View attachment 381730 You clearly not trying hard enough!

Strava cc times so;
Watopia kom above.
Not sure if Lee’s is done on pro or not.
This prompted me to look at my times up Box Hill (as I've done that on both bkool and neo), and surprisingly my fastest time is on the neo. I've done it 7 times now (mostly races) and best 2 times are:

Neo:
Time: 8.58
Ave power: 318 watts
Max power: 509 watts

Bkool Pro:
Time: 9.05
Ave power: 325 watts
Max power: 500 watts

Zwift isn't bug free either - main difference though is zwift don't blatantly lie about it when there are bugs!

I like to give the Bkool guys the benefit of the doubt and I don't think they lie, so much as I just think they are so bad at understanding how their system works that they don't realise they have bugs and can't understand what their customers are telling them. They really are incompetent, albeit with a potentially great product. I'm just amazed they have got so far :banghead:

As for this current Zwift bug, it's being ongoing now since last week but I've not seen on their FB page any mention of it or any eta to fix so maybe no more effective as Bkool either. We only know Bkool support desk is rubbish as we've all contacted them at least once over the years, but as many of us haven't contacted Zwift yet we don't really know how good they are.

I had a small issue a few weeks ago sent an email and got a reply in about 5 hours.

Very close indeed Paul. Most who have compared the two trainers say that climbs are quite accurate, it's downhill and flats where a difference appears

Well done Paul! Blooming strong!

Can you link to your Strava?

Zwift looks like server side issues according to groupnride leaders. Happened in Zsun ride I am doing at mo- logged out and in and we were back together and Monte was there- yay!
