Tommy - you keeping us in suspense then !:hyper:

I’m going to try get a test ride in tonight. I’ve taken on too much work... Day job, and consulting on another job which is biting into my evenings badly. Plus a tenant has really let me down. Bleh.... I’m itching to put some miles in .

I have been foolish enough to sign up for a race, the Zwift team worlds this Saturday. I will be riding with a team from Zsun. When i agreed i assumed i would be a cat C and doing 2 laps of Watopia 8, so about 60km. Turns out my watts/pk took me into the bottom end of Cat B and so have 4 laps to do. 120km. Gulp! Watopia 8 is the hilly/flat route that you cover in both directions. The first lap will be mental, and likely also the final lap too-if i last to the end that is. The indicators are people will look to gain time on KOM's and then carry power over relaxing a little on the flats. Anyway, if you want to read about it details are here:

If i survive i will probably encourage those of you who remain post the price hike to consider setting up CC teams to compete next year. Obviously some riders take it incredibly seriously, and there has previously been a fair bit of cheating. But that's not why I or most others have entered. There are teams across all category's and it would be good to train and then race with people we know not just here but IRL.

Feel free to look in and drop the odd Ride On to help me complete the race. Lots of dnf's last year and i hope not to be one of them this year.

Good luck with that! Will try and tune in and see how you are getting on.

I'd be up for riding as a team. Trouble is I am near top of C - and I think you chaps are now racing B?

What’s a good time for 1 lap Andy?

Andy, not sure that is realistic. We have paced at between 46 and 56min per lap, so between 229 and 197w averages. As a guide the fastest course time is 38min . Allowing for slowing it is unlikely anyone will dip under 3 1/2 hrs. There are already lots of sandbaggers, nominal B cat who have dropped to cat C but Zwiftpower should catch them post race.

Good luck with that! Will try and tune in and see how you are getting on.

I reckon you are faster than me and a solid B by now.

Hoping to be zwifting tonight once I get from my busy day in the big smoke. Might see if there are any races around 7 UK time, else will be a pootle up one of the hills.

Just spotted a CLS CC high low ride. If back in time I might try that, although not sure my timings will be right. Anyone else tried this kind of ride?

Mine was 48 mins part of a bigger ride. I think some of faster guys are early 40 minutes. I suppose you could just do one flying lap to set a good time.

48min is bloody good. Dave is 44-37 and Ryan 42-12. We always start slow to warm up and then a bit faster before KOM then regroup so may be a minute or 2 faster but honestly some of the guys I ride with are very fast and their fastest one lap times are 43-44 mins and that will slow as each lap takes its toll. I will be happy first to finish and then dip below 3h 30m.

just done the first day of a ftp booster ride and it set itself to ergo mode
not sure about it to be honest , in top gear all the time apart from when it said more revs at one point
it felt very alien to be in top gear bimbling up the mountain and must admit at one point i got fed up and just went for it for a while
anyone who has done these rides - do they get harder ? do you do just these rides and nothing else ?

I read that the early Zwift workouts were too easy and you should start the second stage to make it more difficult.
