I’ve got a Garmin Forerunner 230 from when I was running competitively (before I had a fall and borked my knee). It does time, GPS, smartphone notifications, navigation when paired with the excellent dwmap app. I use mine on the handlebars of my bike instead of an Edge or a Wahoo thingy. If you want inbuilt HR, the Forerunner 45 is the equivalent nowadays, I think.

I have an Apple Watch. Having a smart watch is really useful for me at work because phone calls and messages pop up on the watch so I can decide what needs a quick response and what doesn’t, without constantly pulling my phone out of my pocket. But to be honest I don’t use any of the other functions and haven’t from about month 2 of owning the watch. I know a lot of other people in that boat too. When I get home I take it off and put a normal watch on which I much prefer to wear 🤷♂️
For a bit of realism added to Zwift, you can use this little Gplama video. Change screenshot and correct those low power figures etc etc

Actually .... I have less excuse now as just bought myself some bib-tights .... will make riding out in colder weather less harsh

that's 11 miles more than me since about Aug/Sept last yearI'm trying to get out most days, just to get legs turning, lungs expanding. I'm using wife's ebike for a few days to ease myself back in. My direct involvement on house build is a little less currently. Once my fitness starts to climb I'll venture out on my bike. By April/May my new steed should be here for some fun

That's a monster looking machine Andy. I guess you're planning to ride on trails etc, off the road and off the beaten track! Must weigh a ton
