I am riding my race tonight, steady but fastish pace to the hills, hopefully catching a draft at all times, and then full on up each ascent chasing down those in front, recover on the downs, rinse and repeat. Either the legs are there or they are not but to help:
1 litre water bottle already in the fridge cooling with an energy drink mix.
Espresso 1 hour before race. Banana to be consumed after easy spin warm up, jelly babies and 2 gels for the race, 1 with caffeine if energy levels really show signs of collapsing after 45 minutes.
Hoping to break 1h 15 min.

1:15 would probably win you the race, I should imagine. Here is Matt's live data from this morning - bear in mind that the critical powers usually go up when the FIT file gets processed. 5.9W/kg for 5 minutes equates to 407W. He's not on peak form at the moment, but that got him 39th/73 As in APAC Division 1 in 1:15:28! It's going to be a looong ride...

@bobinski this might give you a benchmark to base your target time on - the race Tommy and I did on Saturday. I think it's fair to say we were both "trying"! It was a field of 56 B Cats, so similar size field to the actual ZRL races
