Had another IRL race last Sunday - this time a 43 mile Masters Road Race. This one was a bit lumpier than the one I did the previous week.

I wasn't in quite as good form as the previous weekend but enjoyed the race. I came in 15th (9th in my category) I was 5 seconds behind the winner but it felt like 5 minutes. I got poorly positioned before the final left turn leading to the finish straight. There was a nasty crash in the final mile but luckily it was behind me.

My final planned IRL race this year is on 4th September. It is another Circuit race at Shrewsbury Sports Village and is the BMCR National Circuit Championships.

....... Zwift Racing is now looming on the horizon 🚲:bicycle:

Currently having a lazy afternoon in the local. Sitting outside, sinking a few pints of Tribute. Fair to say I won't be riding tonight.

Good luck guys, I'll be thinking of you.... or fast asleep on my sofa .... one of the 2 🤣

We are meeting up with our friends, having a Thai meal and a few beers tonight

I get my arse handed to me every time autocat puts me in C4 :cry: Luckily for me it put me in C5 this week so I'll be upper mid table.^_^

Have fun with your iTT Ian :ph34r:
Well that's another course that suits me pretty well ... Back in C4 for next week :cry::cry:

3rd FTS on lap 2 (The only time it counted ... lap one I was 1st :cry:)
4th FAL on both laps :eek::eek:
6th overall

I did end up doing and iTT on the descent and ascent getting to within 7 seconds of the front three ... Had I made the junction I would have finished higher as I was caught by two riders in the last 500m, and I "Wasted" a lot of watts trying to catch the front three and maintain my gap from the chasing pack

Well done @Aleman
I was placed in C4 last night on a course that didn't suit me , twice up the San Luca climb nearly did me in.
Hopefully next week they'll put me in C5 ?

Did manage to clock 101 km/h on the descent... 👍

Wow, I only got 98Km/h ... Need more cake 🍩🍩

From past experience, if you end up in the bottom20% you get put in a category lower for the next event ... I'm hoping I only get put up to C4 for next week and not C3!! Of course it is assuming that the criteria they are using doesn't change (it does from week to week), and what part of the autocat system they are testing, which also has an impact on where you get put!
