Is easy

Quite a few sandbagging, but came 4th on the road. Exclamation triangles in the first few laps

Carl, stop sandb(r)agging in the C's and come join me and the other lower B's you like to banter with  I promise a warm welcome...:smooch:
Love that term

My problem is still my 20 min + numbers. 1 min and 5 min I'm ok, can get into the lead C group and hang on to mid B's on flat courses, but what I can't seem to do is get the longer term power up. Could well be linked to the asthma?

I think after this league I need to work in the 20+ minute power and see if I can get myself into B proper. I'd really love to, but I'm barely putting out 3 w/kg over the duration of a race these days.

very good result Andy - bet that was a real buzz - still on the weight loss regime ?
Cheers Lee, it was a buzz. Such a long time I had butterflies on the start.🦋 Dropped 500W off the line, shot off into distance, thought this is bit too much, nacked off and settled into the pack. Rode with 3 higher cat riders, but eventually lap 9/12 wasnt able to match their 4-5Wkg up the climb. Solo'd final laps whilst watching other sandbaggers dropping 8W/kg up the cobbles chasing me down.

Yes I'm on long term weight reduction. Im slowing down in weight coming off, but I can pickup the pace by longer fasting. I'm trying to balance this with weight lifting, cycling and Ive taken up a bit of walking too- not with the bike 😄

If you're up earlyish tomorrow and in search of a few minutes of pain, you could join me for a Hill Climb on Fox Hill. No drafting, all riders start together, 166 entrants so far... what's not to like?
That’s a bit too early for me @Legs. xx(
It would be good getting a regular Saturday race or series that a number of us were entered into.
I was thinking of the 0930 DBR SufferDay League V race. Looks like all cats start together for 73km on Makuri.

Everyone's better at giving advice than taking it and no doubt that includes me…

But, my advice is that if you can stay on the pack in a B race then join B races and then I’d expect your 20 min power number to go up. That’s just going on the premise that the average 20 minute power number in the B pack is higher than in a C pack. So if you race in C your number is less likely to improve as it’s often governed by the packs pace rather than you’re own capability.

But if you’re happier in C then obviously that’s your call too.
