I'm always in two minds about this kind of course. I'm a weak climber so lightweight makes sense in many ways. Especially as I feel like I can draft well regardless for the first bit.

Then the downhill and straight section is still very significant. Tron defo not a bad choice, I'll have a think

I am not biting ! Anyone who follows me on strava will see i am hardly getting to ride at the moment and when i do it's pretty lacklustre. Work and stuff getting in the way
Still, i will be there for the workout. Not worried about peeps getting away early because ethey are targets to aim for on the long , long (did i say long?) climb....
You're a natural climber Bob, you should nail us to the mast tonight.

And watching the race back last week, when 4 of us broke free the final lap it looked like you did all the work to pull us back, pushing over 4 w/kg for a good few minutes :notworthy: You may not be riding much, but the form still looks to be there :okay:

Based on my quickest time around the lap (which is one I'm hoping to beat tonight), I spent about 60% of my time climbing, 10% downhill and 30% flat/rolling. Your times obviously may vary, but I know which bit I think the bike can make larger gains for me on.

Ive been watching this young rider called Thom Thrall. My god, he is a power monster, low low cadence 71kg. packs a 1000+W sprint. Invariably podiums on the A cat Zwift. I watched mash up the glass climb at 50rpm knocking 7-8W/kg virtually all the way up

...see our GC fall apart as Bob and Tim fly up the mountain!
I'm not sure about that... I haven't done a 20-minute TT effort since September (because I'm worried that I'd be sorely disappointed with the inevitably poor numbers), and my weight has crept up a bit in recent weeks with stress-related comfort-eating...

I always end up on the tron too. Honesty I think if the race was up the alpe I’d still use it…
No, Alpe and Ventoux are virtually the only courses where you're better off using a climbing bike than Tron. I'd use Bridgestone and Meilensteins for AdZ.

AHDR have an intra-team inter-squad rivalry in the TTT events with separate classifications for (a) going fast, and (b) looking smart. The latter is judged by the #matchymatchy committee, with a strong emphasis on matching kit (often, but not always, Trons).

Some of the guys have unrivalled 'photography' skills...
