I think they can be one and the same though really. That B cat guy is the same as the C cat guy. Just not as adept at hiding it maybe.
Although you could say they're not hiding it at all. They know they're B's and have no qualms about racing at B level power in a C race, knowing full well that ZwiftPower will DQ them, but it's crossing the line first is all that matters to them.

Well, that "recovery" ride went rather well. ZP doesn't tell the whole story though. On zwift companion I was 9th/30 on the road so 23 DQ'd/DNF! Leith Hill after Party. I managed to hang on to the lead group till the bottom of the hill before getting dropped. Appears that everyone who dropped me were sandbaggers!

Great win, even if you didn't know at the time!

It can be a little annoying when you cross the line in and around other riders, maybe even have to contest a sprint finish and then when the post-DQ results come in, find that you actually finished alone and by minutes - thinking that you could have sat up, saved some energy and still ended up in the same place! But of course the one time you try that, it'll turn out to be a race where 95% of the riders are all on ZwiftPower and in the legit category...

Congrats on the win! It is a shame when you find out like that

Indeed. Their motivation might be different. Or it might be the same, but with less guile. They might race differently too, more willing to go over the category boundary than the guy trying to stay within the cat limit. Maybe they’re not even on ZP (another major flaw in the system). In some ways that’s actually my preference. As when they go peeling off the front you can leave them to it

But in the end it’s still a wolf dressed as a lamb. Same as mr weight / height doper too. Maybe it’s obvious, maybe it’s more nuanced.
But all these people fall into same category in my mind. Tragic individuals.

You make the case perfectly for two screens one on the Live tab on Zwiftpower and the other running Zwift ... Works great in my pain cave

An hour to cycle 25km around London ... someone was taking it easy .... when you can hit those watts at the end of a full on race, let us know. This is a serious cycling thread, not Facebook, don't-cha know :reading:

Oh, go on then, :okay: But just this once!

You know what traffic in London can be. Couldn't get up to speed, especially with all these people in vans visiting all the way from Amazon ;)

I'll definitely let you know once I hit the same numbers in a race - by that time, you'll be so far back that you won't be able to see it on screen:boxing:;)

Does anyone fancy racing tonight anyway? Can't remember what race was looked at but struggling to find any mass start Races...except a couple of group rides around 7 but would that be very poor form to hijack?

I'll look forward to it  Just hope you catch me up before I retire in a couple of years time

What you will need though for Zwift races, is not just a decent FTP and/or w/kg number, but it's the ability to go into the red, recover and hold on the to the pack, then go back into the red again . sometimes multiple times in a race. It can be the difference between holding on to the group you're in, and losing a wheel and dropping back a long way.

I have set up a few workouts in Zwift to try to stress my body for this .... not everyone is into workouts but I quite like them. One has me going well above FTP for a minute, then 2 minutes at 'blob' cruising pace .. to try to simulate what happens in a race. I'll do this for 15 reps, so 45 mins, which again is a good (for me) simulation of a race.

The crit races are also good for this too so try out a few of those. Really good for keep pushing you into the red, over and over, but not much real recovery in between.

just started riding virtually ,signed up for rgt and zwift free trials to see which i prefer  so many questions so is there an faq /begineers guide?
I started just a few weeks ago and found the FAQ sections on Zwift website very helpful:
- https://support.zwift.com/en_us/categories/cycling-faqs-ByVhVv7PX

Zwift Insider has many great articles. If you want something in a video form, GCN has some nice videos about Zwift.
