Happy New Year guys... :okay:

Whilst the rest of the Spartak family sleeps in, I've been watching this excellent film whilst drinking a pot of coffee ☕...

Safety To Nome

An endurance race crossing Alaska.

Looks good. Noticed slaying the badger is on Disney plus, meaning to watch it.

Going to hop on a fasted ride this afternoon and get back into intermittent fasting to give me a one day head start on my weigh in!

Morning all. Happy new year. I was in bed by 10 last night so not an exciting evening

Weather looks OK here, and I have a new winter cycling top and gloves so may venture out into real world for an hour  Please don't tell Zwift though :hyper:
Well that was a total failure! Weather forecast was dry. Was a bit of drizzle when I left house but sky was bright enough. 20 minutes later, sky as black as night, torrential rain, windy  Headed home so a ride 2 hours shorter than planned .... everything soaked when I got back, I weighed 2 kg heavier just in water

But ... I got out there, so that's a start. And really enjoyed being out in the real world. Just wish weather was less of a dick!

On a different note ... anyone planning a Spain etc trip this spring that I could jump on? I've never had the chance to ride abroad and I have the opportunity now so any advice, or invites, gladly accepted

Oh ... and please, somewhere warm and dry

I'm planning to sign up for a Training week or 10 days in Calpe which my coach is a part organiser of. I'll ask whether it is open to all, or restricted. I'd not heard of Calpe but when I had a look, it is a very popular area for cyclists and used by a lot of pro teams.

I suspect others on here will also have plans/options as well.

How about Majorca?
Yeah, somewhere like that, or Tenerife. Some of the guys on here sometimes book a trip so if something in the planning I was hoping to jump on

Never been on holiday on my own before so need to get my planning @rse and mind in gear!

Looks nice down there :okay:

I'd probably choose to hire a bike too, so may see if I can find a company that organises rides and bike hire. Just never done anything like this before so not sure where to start

For a first time riding aboard trip I would say Mallorca. It is really well set up for cyclists, and you can have easy or tough days. There are many groups that ride that you can join, or you can do you own thing.

Bike hire is cheap, hotels are cheap, there are loads of cafes. Some routes get very busy (cap formentor and sa calobra), but their are so many other areas to explore such as the monasteries and the Orient valley.

I'd agree if you're average Jo, but I reckon virtually all of you lot in here could easily tackle the Canary islands.

Only difference is you can go mid winter and be nearly always guaranteed mid 20s, blue skies and great roads.

I do need to do Majorca just to tick it off.

Tenerife is awesome, and bike hire is easy. Riding Teide has to be on anyone's bucket list. There are plenty of companies you can use and bike hire is normally easy.

Average Joe 😂 perhaps replay that one to the pros that cycle there, especially if they don't win any stages, send them a tweet, perhaps if they'd gone elsewhere they wouldn't be so average.

My comment was based around what I know and I haven't been to the canaries is any capacity so can't comment on bike hire etc..

In Play de Muro every other shop is cycling related.
