The other option for me of course is to throw @IrishAl a bribe to go and complete Stage 5 in less than 53 minutes. That would put me at 55m for the stage without completing it vs my current time of 1h 06m and save me all the time I need to take a place off @alex_cycles without even turning a pedal!

I've got 07:41 to make up if I want to catch @alex_cycles and haven't completed Stage 5 or 6.
Alex_cycles currently has the slowest time of 01:36:29 on Stage 6, so I'm currently losing two minutes to him on that stage.
But IrishAl has the slowest time of 01:04:01 on Stage 5, while Alex_cycles has a time of 52:42, so I'm losing 13 minutes to him on that stage.
If I can complete Stage 5 in anything under 53minutes, I reckon I can pinch a place off @alex_cycles. I'm planning to give it a go on Sunday at 19:00Feel free to come and mark me if you like @alex_cycles
@Girafitti is next in the pecking order but I doubt I can catch him - I would certainly need to complete both stages, and make up a combined 15minutes across the stages! And if he completes just one more stage then he is definitely out of reach, and will probably catch @CXRAndy

I did a second attempt of TdZ Stage 4 this evening. That’s the gravel ride on Serpentine 8.
It was nice to repeat a stage to get a comparison, and I was hoping to see better power numbers this time around. I did, but only by the smallest of margins. 20min power on the first attempt was 212W and today was 213W Not really disappointed with that because last time round I felt like I was on a particularly good day. Tonight I felt normal, but crucially felt I was recovering better between efforts which was really promising.
In the end my time first time around was 45:31 and tonight was 48:05 despite powers being very similar, which I think shows the benefit of having more riders out on the course! I did ease up on the final downhill/flattish section because I had no group and knew I wasn’t going to beat my previous time.

Excellent illustration that power alone doesn't give you the full picture. I've compared some TdZ ride stats from specific rides of other team members and come to the conclusion "they must be using their power more wisely than me"
Obviously being able to maximise drafting and hold onto the wheels of fast riders is the best thing to be doing if you can. One day

Did you miss the movement of the NEO? Perhaps you haven’t yet done a long enough ride? It’s the only thing I miss on long rides or sessions with lots of sprinting. I have been eyeing up 2 rocker options but which of the 2 can wait until the autumn.
