Question for everyone who raced tonight , Why are starts so fast ?, The course has an obvious selection point the climb yet everyone races full gas too it . Would the results be much different if everyone cruised to the bottom then the race kicked off

Just habit starting fast from the pens to get up speed I think, and then a matter of everyone afraid of getting dropped so pushing a little harder than they really need to - with fresh legs.

My video of tonight's ZRL.

Didn't go too well for me - have had a cold all last week and although I do feel better now, when I pushed on the climb I soon found I couldn't breathe properly so went pop quite early. Got in a small group of 8 after the climb and caught a few riders before the end, and managed an ok sprint from that group to finish 40th

Yeah plus it was quite a short race as well and I guess non-pure sprinters want to make the race as hard as possible to sap the legs? Was brutal

I rode with @Girafitti and @Mr Fitzroy in the Pedal Boys team. There was a split on the climb, but the hardest part for me was the twisting coastal bypass road - I was just clinging on there! The three of us made the front group of 17; Bram got a great 5th in the sprint while Nicol and I came in at the back of the group. We’re 2nd of 13 teams in the league.

The cycling chat development team is in full force after acquiring a senior road captain 'Legs' Melville.

Great to see Tim able to get onto team 😁
Indeed, thanks Bram @Girafitti . I hadn't realised that Pedal Boys are affiliated to the overarching CycleChat zwift group.

There are quite a few riders on the roster, so I'm happy to sit out weeks when the others are all keen to ride, but I should be available any week I'm needed. I think that with Dylan, Nicol, you, (and me), we could be pretty handy in the TTTs :bicycle:
