Never heard it call a seat pin before - it's a seat post!

Get the seat post out and replace with a new carbon one. (IMHO)
Or a nice Ti post like the one I fitted to my CAAD5 years ago...

Without protective grease...

And which is now firmly corroded in!!!

It is annoying because I would like to try changing my saddle height slightly to see what that felt like.

Stage 3 Makuri series.

Felt better, was dropped from lead group on the only climb, managed to stay with strung out stragglers. Put in an acceleration on the descent to join the front two riders, this spurred the other to jump across with me and we formed a group of 6 riders. Flat then till finish. I was checking out who had big power on the flat to mark them. One french rider sort of signalled his intention to sprint from the back, he tried a few test sprints. Come 1km to go he laid off 20metres from the back of the pack and launched around 700m to go. I went plus another. Then it was a drag race to the line. We were dropping the other but maintaining position. I put in a mini sprint to sneak 2nd out of our sprint. Before the results came up I thought I'd bagged 2nd overall, completely forgotten the lead pack had finished 50s earlier

Looks like I've been promoted on the back of this result, by just 1 point.

Important bit I didn't feel like death after the sprint

Why would I want to put a carbon or titanium seatpin on my turbo bike? The mind boggles.

Anyway (as per the other thread), the seatpin is well and truly stuck in the frame. I drilled a hole through last night and put a screwdriver through, and put a scaffolding tube over the end of the screwdriver. I didn't quite plastically deform the screwdriver, but the seatpin is showing no signs of going anywhere - I'll douse it in WD40 but I'm not really sure how much more effort is worthwhile to try to save a 32 year old frame. The bottom bracket is on its way out, too. My wife reminded me that I did not comply with the one-in-one-out rule last September!

Reinstalled the old aluminium noodle frame onto the turbo last night, swapped the better saddle over from my dying Trek, and smashed out a workout this morning without a graunchy B/B. Saddle angle definitely needs a tweak, so I'm glad it was a short session!

Why not drill a hole through the seatpost and the part of the seat that goes onto it, put a bolt across and should be sorted.

Oops, yes... My mind is still firmly focussed on outdoor cycling!

Typical that I wait months for my turbo trainer to arrive and then we get months of sunny days. Still if that is the price to pay for perma-sun, then fair enough!

At some point crappy weather will return and force me back indoors to test the turbo properly.

There's a horizontal crack at the base of the vertical split, so that's not going to be safe. I did think about doing that, or Araldite, when I thought it had just been a case of the clamp part coming unbonded.

Really not that fussed about chucking the frame - it's had a very good innings. I had the bottom bracket shell resined back inside in 2005!

That looks fun. I won't be making one though unless I have need of an expensive frame rescue

I've entered an Open hill Climb on 30th June near Matlock for a laugh. It is a qualifier for the National Hill Climb Champs. Long way to go for an event that will last about a minute ^_^

I'll probably go early and get a decent ride in beforehand.

Awesome, I entered that last week, too - see you there!

By getting qualifying rides out of the way early, I can have a clearer run through September without having to race every weekend. 1-minute power thrashes suit me quite well, too!

I'm pretty sure I've done that climb once 😁 , I was staying in a nearby village and cycled there to get a morning paper . It's a pretty nasty steep one ,put it this way I didn't fetch another paper 🤣

Ignore that after a bit of searching Strava , I haven't done that climb I did the parallel road West Bank so unless you do that as a warm up my Strava time is safe 😁. I presume the climb will be pretty similar as it goes up the same bank
