I have applied for a beta tester code, but nothing yet. Is there a way to download and use someone else's code?
No idea unless you use log in details of one of our accounts

I find the draft effect minimal on Zwift. I could even say that it doesn't work. I can't feel the effort getting much easier. It was a quite evident in Bkool(possibly the only feature that worked very well) The upside I can see is that the average speed is higher than solo, but I'm generally just about on maximum to take much notice of speed.

One more problem overcome, power cuts. I had an old back up PSU, which needed a new battery, all up and running now. Should give 30 mins of protection:laugh:

Andy, I have tested the draft on chaingang rides in Zwift and fwiw I think it works well enough, though perhaps closer you are to the front the more effective. I only found it worked in bkool if riding with one or perhaps 2-3 others but after that it just seemed to collapse mixed up with general over reading of watts.
I suspect the draft, especially with larger groups is v v difficult to replicate.

I agree, I notice a significant effect when in the draft of other riders, it's very noticeable.

Did the KISS second base race today. More disasters from the start. Got on in plenty of time and was warming up, less than a minute out from the drop and my client crashed, so reloaded and got back in and was about 10 seconds out from the drop, so had a significant effort to get back on with the main group. Took 11 minutes to catch the main group with @JLaw in it, during which I averaged over 4w/kg. So I knew I was pretty much DQd at that point, hung on the main group, and pushed a touch to see if anyone would bite, but they wouldn't

At about 1 lap to go I figured it would be worth trying to see if I could organise a sprint leadout for Jeff, but all hell broke loose at about 3.5km to go as one of the group shot off the front, quickly followed by a few others, I tried to raise the pace to keep up, but realised I was losing the rest of the group, so eased off. Paced into the front and started sprinting around 300m to go, Jeff was following, so I pushed a little bit, in the end I rolled over just ahead, with us both being about 9 seconds down on the winner in 7th and 8th place out of 28 finishers.

Good overall race, but I still need to work on technical/timing at the start, once in the main group I'm definitely just rolling along, so I will no doubt be bumping up to B at some point.

Sorry to hear that Andy.
Though you did see what a short RGT ride did to Dean so perhaps a bit more training will better prepare you?

What happened to Dean was reality(virtually). A decent turbo on a decent simulator. Saying that Bkool with a Kickr on climbs feels very real in effort, no speed bonus either. I expect Dean/Lee/You to post sub 2 hours, but not by much, with Lee leading with his superior W/kg. My effort was I say hard, but not flat out, well you cant go flat out on a 2hour climb incase you blow up.. Also my gearing was not perfect for a sustained big effort.

Andy, I was only having a little nibble at Dean ;)
Re blowing up; I actually started RGT very close to another rider and thought I could use him to pace. After I went the wrong way:rolleyes: and turned around I started to push 3.5 to 4w/k to catch him and not surprisingly it was too much to early.
I think you are right about times and anyone who breaks 1h 45m will have put in a v impressive ride.
Fwiw I know I can do chalet reynard to top in 35m possibly quicker. My 36m rlr involved moving chats with 3 people on the way up- one of whom told me to feck off ^_^ So then issue is how fast from Bedoin to CR and I think a struggle for me to do it in less than 1h 20 without risking blowing up which puts me in a 1h 55 to 2 hr.
I actually think I will be quicker irl than in RGT
