I am going to take the opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas. I would have sent you all a free copy of the co -authored with Tommy latest Kindle title “ Excuses and Rule 5; squaring the circle” but it seems Tommy has not quite finished with the appendices  Something about endless time arguing with Mrs TT coz he is still insisting on KFC gravy on the Christmas bird^_^

Anyways,
Enjoy, be Merry and don’t count the calories:okay:

Hi Guys
Been trying to get my Elite Direto up and running on a older 9 speed racer.
Bought a new rear cassette and fitted with two spacers and a new chain ( that’s another story) as it sounded a bit rough.
I then tried it on Zwift and the resistance was all over the place and this was all down to the pairing.
Zwift automatically pairs power and controllable together which messed it up so unpairing the controllable sorted it out and it now feels good.
I’ll give it a good workout over the holidays and hopefully give it a thumbs up.
Merry Xmas everybody
Elite Direto was still giving issues and because I rode a flat circuit unpairing the controllable trainer didn’t alter the resistance.
Obviously when doing a hilly section it then became noticeable.
I turned it back on and everything was OK but before when it was paired the resistance was so erratic.
I’ve shown the pairing screen below for guidance if anybody would be so kind to educate me.

If you are on FB Perhaps ask over on Zwift riders? Lots of Direto users there.
Ok thanks will do.
Another question...
when I was competing in a multi class race I had no idea what position I was in and there were no other riders nearby!
How can I tell my position in my class or overall.

Is it basically the same as your other Smart trainers...... are they all set on fe-c, ant+ etc

That's how the screen looks for me using the Bkool Pro so I'd say all was OK. Given you had resistance problems in Zwift with the Bkool Pro, and you're having the same now with the Elite, maybe it's not the trainers that's the problem. Could try re-installing Zwift software, or if using an Ant+ getting a new one (or if using BT, try an Ant+).

There is some times a position indicator on the right hand side just above the "Riders Nearby" but not in every race, there is a problem with other riders not showing which zwift know about but not every time this happens

Good Result Monte. Have a go with a few races in C cat. Tt will push you on and before you know it your fitness will improve to be battling at the head of C cat.
My first few races in B cat were so hard, I was getting dropped in the first 10 mins, but now I can hold onto the group much longer and yesterday finished with the pack for the first time
My experience has been similar -- hanging on longer and longer to the lead pack until eventually finishing with them and occasionally hitting the podium (on a favorable course). I'm hoping that once we get past the holidays and I'm back on regularly I'll be able improve further and stick with the lead group on the hillier courses.
