Too many hills Carl. With your significant improvement and weight loss, you're most likely to take the title
Next stage is made for you - 34km flat. Stage 5 is the new pan flat route on the new Watopia roads. Again, made for your power. I'll need to limit damage on these stages and try to make some back on the hillier ones. :bicycle:

Not sure about tonight, HID is lecturing me about recoving from this infection, she's probably right and a full on effort may knock me back. Might try a 80% effort as breathing is not right yet .
If you're feeling up to it an 80% effort could be worth it to register a time. With so many others riders on the course you'll get dragged along on the flatter sections and you can do a nice relaxed tempo on the climbs :okay: I'm hoping to ride at 4 for an hour or so, make HID's tea, then get back on at 7 for the race and so I'll be 80% at best but be a shame not to turn up when so many other CCers are there :okay:

Alongo looks like you’re going to fit right in around here...

Unfortunately you’re now amongst people who have gone far beyond using your average infection as an excuse....
And who would have no shame claiming bubonic plague if they thought anyone would actually buy it! We have limbs falling off weekly around these parts... Chronic asthma is pretty standard. Just asssume it’s a medical marvel anyone actually makes the start line.
And even though the average age is probably about 50 you’d think it was god’s waiting room you had entered!

So I’m afraid my friend, even with a (fairly weak) doctors note from your missus. You just got yourself a 3 out of ten in the excuse stakes.

See you tonight :okay:

Stage 1 is being re-run tomorrow, Saturday AND Sunday so hopefully you'll have a chance to recover and put in a 100% effort at some point. There will also be make up dates for all stages at the end if you miss any, or want to try and put in a better time

Edit: As you can see I'm trying to be a bit more empathetic than @TurboTommy who is the local excuse police !

I am gonna try and chase you both down:okay:
I was going to write you off as you'd need to finish all stages to have a chance :cuppa:

Is that incentive enough to do all the rides this time

Set myself a little challenge today ... I'm planning to ride the 5 o'clock ToW at race pace (or close enough). Then a little warm down before riding the 6 o'clock ToW stage again. Need to pace myself on this one so I finish before 6 but leave something in the tank. Then, at 7, I'll re-do the stage again and see how much I have left  With warm downs etc this should be close to 100km of riding  I am not going to be feeling my best by 8 o'clock :B)xx(

First of all; are you crazy?!

second of all; i didn't know they had expanded the number of opportunities to do the stage! might change to an earlier time than 7. Less draft now if there are lots of stages which is a shame, but probably less chance of a drop out

Third: are you crazy?!

Pacing, warm down, probably pootle as well, yeah right . I just ride road to ruins by myself and it felt awful as it did yesterday with draft.
