First of all; are you crazy?!

second of all; i didn't know they had expanded the number of opportunities to do the stage! might change to an earlier time than 7. Less draft now if there are lots of stages which is a shame, but probably less chance of a drop out

Third: are you crazy?!
I was planning a long ride anyway today, this way I do the long ride but in chunks (so long as I keep the 'chunks' xx( under control I'll be fine  ).

Legs may not let me finish the 3rd attempt, but I'm determined to finish the 2nd one and at least start the 3rd one.

I think we'll be seeing from the stage times, that will get progressively slower, that I won't be pushing very hard by attempt 3 :B)

Crazy boy!

:addict::eek::wacko:
My first 100km was on the Jungle loop ... i think that was 8 laps of the jungle circuit. Within 10 mins I was on my own that Sunday morning; at least this time I should have people to help drag me along on the flatter sections

Fair enough plan actually, if you can stop yourself trying to race for the first two!

I've now signed up for the 1800 one as it is a bit handier timingwise (1700 if I'm v lucky)

Bit of a mixed week for me.

Smashed one of the BRVR climbs on Monday averaging 251W. Felt really good.

Felt a bit achy before ToW Stage 1 on Tuesday, but was ok on the bike. Averaged 257W and that would have been higher had I not tied up a bit in the last 5kms, but still a good time at 44.03. Again very happy with continued improvement.

That night and the next day I found out why I was achy. I’ve gone down with some bug that I think I caught from my son-in-law.

Currently suffering with very achy arms and legs and some joints, and I’ve decided to pull out of the Tour of Flanders this weekend. It’s a great ride and a great weekend, but the course is completely unforgiving on the body and trying to do it as I currently feel is out of the question. As my son-in-law has been off work all week, there’s no guarantee that I’ll be fit for Saturday.

Trying to find a word to sum up how I feel I’ve currently come up with ‘bollocks’ although ‘f**k” is running it a close second.

That's a shame. We need a not like button. Even @TurboTommy will give credence to your excuse by citing the canceled trip.

You averaged higher watts than me again, but slower time. Must be down to where I wheel suck and let others work, but you work harder all the way? I make a point of letting others drag me along so I can rest

I still haven’t quite worked this out yet, but you’re absolutely right that my average watts were higher yet I came in 25 seconds after you.

I mean, I know you’ll soon be 5 stones lighter than me :tongue: but at the moment there’s only around 1kg difference between us.

You absolutely must be using your power in more effective areas than me. The only other possible area of difference is height. I’m 6’ 1” and I have read that the Zwift algorithm also works against taller riders.

I tell my relatives to bugger off and not bring coughs and colds to our house and I wont go to theirs if im feeling unwell. Rather inconsiderate given you have a big event arranged which has been destroyed.

We have an immune suppressed family member and have to be careful not to visit if we have ilness-it could literally kill them!
