Worth a read if anyone's self esteem is too high

Going for a Tron bike in one ride

Docs told me to have one this year due t being wife's carer - as the doc said, neither my wife or the NHS can afford me to get flu and have wife end up in care. Kind of focuses the mind!

I had the flu jab about 6 years ago and it made me really ill , within an hour of having it ,I was laid up in bed for about 4 days ( thought I had man flu😄) never had the jab since and luckily not had the flu

I got in from work too late for the 6pm, started the 8pm but bailed out after half an hour - just got no energy/stamina at the moment.

I'm not going to be able to make up any missed stages either as I'm away this weekend. I might just take a break from the bike (racing at least) for a week or so until I feel fully recovered as I don't think I'm doing myself any favours trying to race hard while feeling like this
Get well soon sir

what I can’t work out is he doing this non stop? The article says it’s being done over 3-4 days so surely he isn’t going without sleep for that long????

i was thinking of doing an outdoor Everest challenge this summer to raise funds for a local charity. I’ve just booked a family vacation to Australia so I’ve cancelled plans for Irl racing to reduce the chances of accidents, so the challengewould give me something to train for.

Has anyone else on here done the Everest challenge?

From the article (which I was just reading myself!):- "Ross will be using the Hells 500 eVeresting rules for this ride, so max sleep allowed is 10 hours"

Edit: Rules say no sleeping allowed for an everesting attempt, but two hours max allowed for each subsequent everest if you're doing multiples - he'll be doing 5, hence 10 hours sleep in total

Ive not but I know a few riders who have.

One did it on Zwift, the other in Tenerife.

The Zwift ride from memory was something like 16 hours of cycling!

That was a very good ride. Just saw the segments and noticed that you manage to maintain steady power output, no bad drops anywhere, actually not any.

Wife had the same a few years ago, but she was OK this year. First time I had the jab this year, and all was good.

No catch to do on me mate you've beaten me on the ones you have done with the exception of last night and I still have the worst one to do for me, the bloody hills
Stage 1 will be hard for me as I'll be on my own so no drafting. I need to pick my day/time to do that and hope watopia is busy with lots of neutrals around to draft on.

Can still see it being very tight between the 3 of us so i need to keep pushing on :training:
