I may not be in the same league as Joffey, but the extra 10Kg I am carry around after last years "stop cycling & eat crap food" interval sessions is really painful 🤣

I quite like my chocolate so instead of losing weight I've decided to get more power. It's working so far, and I can eat as much chocolate as I like. I am worried one day that the power will run out and i'll have to stop the chocolate and replace it with vegetables. And I have read they don't do chocolate tasting vegetables

TTT time again tonight and not one for lightweight climbers-Tempus fugit. I was moved into a stronger team to make up the numbers and boy did I have to hang on by my toe nails! Took a few turns early doors but after that I settled into avoiding getting dropped. They ride together a lot and so a pretty well oiled TTT machine. We overtook 5 teams and missed catching a 6th by a few seconds. An average of just a smidge below 44kph rather than the usual 40-41 I am used to in TTT’s. I am not sure they will have me back
but I am glad I didn’t drop out to get some rest after Tuesdays race. How did everyone else do?

I rode with Jupiter team Bob. Think we did OK. Those TTT's are always tough - at least it was nice and flat which is good for a TTT!

We had some German guy sit in amongst us for AGES- told him to drop off in boyh English and German but he didn't. Think he'd been dropped by his own team or was late starting and used us to bridge back to his team which we caught and passed - but even then he stayed with us! Wouldn't have minded so much if he'd taken a turn ^_^

Well done on your ride Bob - I know what it's like hanging on for dear life to a team of stronger riders and its a tough place to be!

Just checked out our relative times.

@bridgy on 49.34 @bobinski on 51.05 and me on 52.10 - so less than 2 minutes between our 3 teams

Just fast, flat and full on from the start. Not much to say about the course, other than it's just a classic TT course.

We had dreadful trouble on the 2nd pass through the oasis. We passed 4 teams in a really short distance, but one of them wouldn't let us pass and our team got split into two. Eventually we got free, but our estimate was we probably lost 30-45 seconds. Our first two riders were clean through. The other 6 of us got split, and it took us to regroup and then the front 2 to ease before we were back together.

Then, to add insult, as we came back together the other team attacked and passed us! We let them go but got our revenge on the 3rd pass across the desert when we passed them again and dumped them just outside Saddle Springs! Revenge!! đź’Ş

Then, possibly for the first time, I was in the top 4 across the line, finishing off my best week for some time. Had a good ride in ZRL, beat my PB on Tempus Fugit last night by 18 seconds in my road club's virtual time trial, rounded off by tonight's TTT.

I'm going to enjoy a day off tomorrow!

Glad nobody was affected by the login issues last night. I hear that for about 45 mins the website and game were unavailable for anyone who wasn’t already logged in.

Yeah lot of discussion about that on the WTRL Messenger chat last night.

Apparently it was the main Zwift log-in and results processing systems this time. Some people also said the Companion App was affected.

I was unaffected and no trouble for our team but we were riding in the 18.05 zone and the troubles seemed to start nearer 19.00.

I did have to reboot the Companion App later but it came back ok

No problems for me logging in for warm up nor race at 7pm.

Del, we passed other teams in a pretty organised way ( we had a DS) bunched up with lead at 5w/k and rest of us at 4-4.5 and it seemed to make a big difference. Fortunately even easing post pass didn’t encourage anyone to try and latch on.

We actually tried to pass in a controlled manner and largely did so.

The main problems was just the number of teams/riders in such a short space. All 4 were in the underground oasis area. I’ve never seen congestion like it in all the TTTs I’ve done and I’ve no idea how it happened last night. It literally meant your were through one team and almost immediately into the back of another, so apart from sticky draft issues, it was just hard to see where all our teammates were.

Added to that, was the team that didn’t want us to pass. I think they were the 3rd team, because as we passed them and thought we had just the last team to pass before we were clear, they decided to attack. Their lead rider was slightly ahead of the rest of his group and he was the one who started to latch on to us, and then his team followed. So, we were trying to pass the last team, while the 3rd team got tangled up with us. I typed a Back Off message but it didn’t make any difference

It made our final pass of them on the 3rd passage all the more sweet!

@mjd1988 Michael it looks like you did enough to win the Sprinters Kit in the IRL autumn league series 🎉

Sam Coleman did the business in the KOM competition last night so he has won both sprint and KOM competitors. but as he can only claim one he has opted for the KOM Kit which means the sprinters kit goes to 2nd in line which is you. Well done - going all out for the intermediates did the trick!!

Are you sure? I'm ahead on the table but on Facebook they've said the fellow that came 4th is next on line (which doesn't make sense to me as even the guy in 3rd was counted in the GC competition).

I've messaged the Facebook group at 3am like a maniac demanding a recount.🍊 haven't had a reply yet

Actually what odds I'll just post on the Facebook page. I didn't think there was a sprint on Friday last but could be wrong

Edit; it has been corrected👍
