André Greipel announced his retirement from pro racing yesterday. Just thought it was worth a shout. Obviously one of the great sprinters of his generation. Lived a bit in cavendish shadow at the Tour de France maybe, but won a boat load of races. And I think he always comes across like a real nice guy. Maybe he’d of won even more if he was more of an A-hole thinking about it! But there you go… one of sports nice guys in my opinion anyways…

Del, I don’t have a Garmin but my Apple Watch provides a VO2 max reading based on hr and blood oxygen levels and an algorithm that puts mine at 46.5 , up from 32 ,3 weeks ago. I have no idea how accurate it is but I know that compared to my pi$$ poor cheddar gorge effort, where I struggled to breath with the effort of riding hard, I had no such issues today. Well, apart from the usual ones.
Your name popped up in some of my segments today. As did Tommy’s. You two might want to come out this way again and get back some credibility 👍😁

Just signed up for Tuesdays Zwift Classics Series (10:00 - hopefully cooler) ... Not sure I like this Autocat system ... It's put me in C4!!! The reasoning behind it is that Everything Bagel is easier than Yorkshire UCI Forward!!!!

I can only hope that twice up the KOM does it for some of the watt monsters!

I did the National 24 in 2006, when the weather was similarly hot (low 30s on the Saturday). I had huge problems with hydration and nausea through the night but did 428 miles. 505 miles is some ride! 😎
