I suppose we have 4 weeks before the week that Christmas lands on so we could have 3 races. A pan flat, a rolling course and then a mountain stage.

Points for each finishing position and tot them up at the end of the mini-series for the overall victor!

If 10 ride then you could do 10 points for the win and 1 point for last and just change this for riders entered - 12 entered, 12 for the win etc?

I don't mind doing the spreadsheet unless we have an expert on here who has done it previously...^_^

Just an idea but maybe a way to please everyone and make it interesting. The winner receives my used mankini and has to post a photo of them modelling it with a Santa hat on

Week 1 - Yorkshire UCI Course (2 laps) - a nice rolling course
Week 2 - Tempus Fugit (2 Laps) - out and back so if riders are dropped you can wave as you pass them the other way lol
Week 3 - Muir and the Mountain - brutal final course for the climbers

I like to call it "Le Tour de Splitters"

7:45pm - Tuesday nights. There all sorted. @bridgy send out the invites
I'd be up for that even though two of the courses are nightmare fuel to me! Given the mountain stage at the end is going to be decisive in terms of GC time, could we make the first stage a little less roll-y maybe? Not talking pan flat, but maybe a touch easier for us fatties...

Time is fine, but can't do any earlier than that of an evening though - CCC guys will know of my struggles to get home in time for a 7:38 race start the past few weeks!

Not that hard to do both I wouldn't have thought .. so we could have a GC as in the past, but maybe a points race too ... maybe something like

Overall finish position points 10 down to last man (if 11 riders then place 10 onwards all get 1 point)
Pick a course each week with a sprint segment, then same points breakdown for the sprint .. 10 for fastest down to 1 for slowest. This would mean even those at the back of the race would have an incentive to blast the sprint segment. It's an idea?

Reason for doing the points on sprint rather than KoM is everyone can sprint for 15 seconds and the fastest could be quite random, whilst the KoM would be the same winners pretty much every time. Plus, who doesn't love a good sprint! Sprints are also influenced by the group you're in.
I don't think mid-race sprint segments will work for a meetup race Carl. We won't have access to the kind of data WTRL get, or even data from Zwiftpower so the only way to get times for them would be Strava but the sprint segments aren't generally on Strava (they've thinned them right down and you can't add new ones for Zwift now) - the sprint segment for Tuesday's race isn't on Strava for example, I just checked.

This was uncomfortably decisive. Do you hate polls?

I like the idea of GC but is that a bit tricky when meet ups start people at slightly different places; could rolling start to a segment phase but would need to be very clear that the segment end is the finish not the blue line!

I just thought I'd put out a simple format with 3 pre selected courses (2 that don't favour me) and offer to organise it to see how decisive we all are... Turns out not so!!!

I think we all just like the bantz more than the racing ^_^

You can now set a meetup as a race, and you then get full race results on Zwift companion app etc. I assume these would be based on the meetup finish line so we won't have to rely on Strava segment data like we used to - should make it much simpler

I think the start can be managed pretty easily - we just agree that we bunch up at the start and no one shoots off at 700 watts - a group will quickly form and we can start racing. Just needs one deignated person to type "go" in the comments when we're all rolling together

Ah, didn't realise, that's a shame.

Gave (very nearly) an armful of lovely O+ to the NHS vampires yesterday afternoon, but still managed to smash out critical power bests between 21 and 30s up the Legsnapper in last night's Hump Day Ride. ^_^
