No it wasn't funNah, let's go with Paul's plan .... be a lot more 'fun' racing up that first drag![]()
Watching the leaderboard from the back of the race, it was interesting to see everyone split into groups of 2 or 3 - yes eventually they all separated but there were clearly some interesting battles ahead.A few little mini battle by the looks of it!
Well... Very, very, very hard. As an inexperienced rider I found it mighty difficult to keep with the group with @Joffey , @steverob and @CXRAndy. Every downhill section I didn't know when to start pedalling and had to bridge as a result. Got dropped on the steep hill by the first two and then tried to keep my distance from Andy...@Peter Salt how did you find it?
Just to eventually get reeled inWell done Pete, I spotted a weakness in your numbers, told myself just hang in and see what happens![]()
That was brutal. Crossing that start/finish banner and knowing there's still 2k to go - almost all uphill.Whoever put the finish line on a 5% slope though...![]()

Tonight's meetup race:
It's 2 laps BUT you can't actually set laps on meetups just distance or time, so I just set it for double distance for that route. So watch out for the meetup finish as it may not be where the course finish is.
It's set up as a race so late joining isn't allowed and there will be race results published at the end - which will be based on the meetup finish line.
i dont know if there is an easier wayof knowing when to start pedalling at end of downhill but i always keep an eye on the map in top right and as soon as you see other people near you on the list start to put some power in ,go nuts for a couple of seconds to stay on their wheel - a couple of seconds can save you a lot of effortWell done everyone, especially @berty bassett. What a comeback!

It was fun though. Managed to sort out my headphones for the last 5 minutes. Will make sure they're in working order next time.

Next week is flat, yeah?
Wouldn’t worry about it - I think everyone tonight was having headphone problems. By the time we were at 3 miles there were only two of us left on Discord. I stuck around to cheer you over the line cause I know all too well the lonely feeling of bringing up the rear in these events!Managed to sort out my headphones for the last 5 minutes. I suppose we have 4 weeks before the week that Christmas lands on so we could have 3 races. A pan flat, a rolling course and then a mountain stage.
Points for each finishing position and tot them up at the end of the mini-series for the overall victor!
If 10 ride then you could do 10 points for the win and 1 point for last and just change this for riders entered - 12 entered, 12 for the win etc?
I don't mind doing the spreadsheet unless we have an expert on here who has done it previously...
Just an idea but maybe a way to please everyone and make it interesting. The winner receives my used mankini and has to post a photo of them modelling it with a Santa hat on
Week 1 - Yorkshire UCI Course (2 laps) - anicerolling course
Week 2 - Tempus Fugit (2 Laps) - out and back so if riders are dropped you can wave as you pass them the other way lol
Week 3 - Muir and the Mountain - brutal final course for the climbers
I like to call it "Le Tour de Splitters"
7:45pm - Tuesday nights. There all sorted. @bridgy send out the invites![]()
