I somehow muted this chat so just caught up.

Regarding power line adapters, don't run them off of 4 gangs, they should be directly in the mains socket, if you can't afford to lose a mains socket then get passthrough power line adaptors.

I have a VM hub, with one ethernet port to a powerline adaptor extension to my garage. The power line also extends the VM WiFi SSID to the garage. The VM network is isolated to just the garage and is only used for zwift/RGT etc..

The powerline in the garage has ethernet to the laptop and WiFi for the companion app on the same network.

I also have a mesh WiFi in the house, also running of the VM hub but the mesh has its own SSID and is used for household internet traffic for the family gaming, streaming, etc..

I use tplink deco mesh.

I do need to get a descent switch and do it all properly at some point.

cyberknight - won't give you any advise as I believe everyone is different
I can only guess that you are taking on mountains due to your set up as gradient sort of means nothing on a dumb trainer and maybe it feels more comfortable for figures - I don't know
I am a bit older than you and I do what I want , I go on turbo or bike a few days a week , if I feel good I try pushing things , if I feel under par then I take it easy . I sometimes enter challenges where you have to race say 10 days in a row that I enjoy - but they screw me up for a few days after - the only bonus is that everyone in same events are in the same boat

do whatever you feel comfortable with , over do it and run the risk of going backwards but I am sure you know that - good luck
And I go skiing in Italy or Canada or Colorado when the whim strikes me. And I go to whatever exotic bike riding place I want and I buy A new bike whenever I see any dirt on my current one and....

As for pills - lucky enough not to be taking any. Then again, I'm a fair bit younger then some of you :okay:
I don't think mental health is an age thing, unfortunately ... It's a life and the sh*t that happens thing (in my case anyway). I know a few other widows, and those that have gone through some other traumatic life experiences, much younger than me who've also needed a little mental boost.

All I can say is, I hope no one else needs the help, but if you do then go get it early and don't wait until it's too late!

@Norry1 @Whorty have you seen the news about TOC and the date change - AGAIN!! Don't think I can make the new date unfortunately so I'm going to have to defer to 2023 I think. Amazing to think I paid for this in 2019!

Forecast says it could be a bit breezy down in these parts tomorrow, I think I'll leave the bike in the garage...

Crossing the Avonmouth Bridge might still be challenging in the car...

No, not seen anything ... what is it now? Last time I looked I think it was June?

Edit, just checked and yes it's June. I seem to have seen an email on it at some stage. Will depend on what I do with the house, where I end up living, how I am etc ... but at the moment I was expecting to still go, but again maybe drive there in the morning and ride rather than stay over.

Yeah, been moved to 12th June.

Totally scuppered my existing plans so a bit annoyed to say the least.

Never been a fan of the royal family but seeing that it's all because of the jubilee thing, my opinion of them is at an all time low

I'm staying indoors for the weekend, wind and rain pretty much for the next 72 hours

I went out in 40mph winds a couple of weeks back, going out in 80mph wind would be foolish.

Anyway I'll probably need to fix a fence on Saturday.
