Racing is completely different to just bobbing around
There is a way of a subscriber creating an event and inviting non subscribers to join - like a meet up , either on one of the courses or a magic road
But races ( if you can join them without paying ) are totally different and fun
It first seems like there’s not much choice but there are a lot of things going on just a bit harder to find. Facecrack has loads on it but rgtdb has quite a lot of events too - good luck
Son got me a map of great climbs that you can tick off when done , couldn’t find col de jour plan ( first one ) but Fulgaz has it and a free trial so I will be trying that out soon

Apologies for those that are bored of this by now!

Interesting post that.

When reading the first couple of paragraphs I thought that Luciano and Eric were going about everything in the proper manner. But then Luciano couldn't hold his scoop and published it and it took off big time. He's made a big error there.

I agree with Eric - he jumped the gun. Luciano seems to have been a little butt-hurt getting banned for breaking the ToS and has kept posting and whipping it up. Now EVERYONE knows about the cheat.

Zwift could of obviously handled it better and the shadowban seems harsh to me. They need to fix it and let Luciano back in.

What is blazingly obvious though is Zwift need to get closer to the racing community - they don't appear to understand it at all. I don't know why it is and why they don't have a dedicated staffer / team to deal with racing issues.

Hopefully it'll be resolved soon.

The thing that is so weird is that it appears to be the kind of issue an intern could fix. The mobile apps already know whether you are in a ride or not (they show the map when you are in one, right).

It’s super simple to just lock the fields for height and weight in the companion app when it is in “ride” mode. The same for the game client. If it is true that they’ve known about it for two years (I haven’t seen any evidence) then I really wonder what else they’ve got in their backlog!!

Is it as easy to detect if your phone isn't connected to wifi or you update it using a laptop? I honestly have no idea. You'd think that your Zwift account would know if you are riding or not and could just be locked until the ride has ended?
